The one who is unable to create by himself, he steels
25 October 2015
It's obvious what am I referring to. After two 'overly inspired' films from Filipovic in the likes of Romper Stomper and something else in his first film which I don't remember at the moment, he managed to 'steel' one more: overall concept of this film coincides with The breakfast club. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088847/?ref_=nv_sr_1

The only change is (for him) usual presentation of antagonism between nationalists and 'liberal, urban members of society'. The essential idea of characters interacting closed in the classroom until something significantly changes in the climax of the film is copied from aforementioned film.

don't mystify, it's awfully boring

I'll be very short here and address to those who said 'pointless is the point' and 'the art of character acting' without intent to offend that they should try to make effort of thinking deeply and see how stupid it is.

I mean, depp's acting is pretty shallow, almost everyone could act like him in this movie.

'pointless is the point' would be the same if I recorded garbage truck in the streets at night for ten minutes and someone goes on and asks me 'why'.

try thinking this way or something like that.

I wasn't vulgar, but I was close to be :)

avoid it

well, OK, I would like to start this intro with general observation that people who are doing creative jobs in their lives have their own 'expiry date'. today, brian de palma is old man and he obviously lost his criteria. this show us one more thing and it is the fact that we shouldn't fool ourselves with expectations about artist's achievement based on his reputation (overrated or not, that's the other question). self-criticism is often needed. even 'scarface' has naive ending, though it's very good movie.

commercial movie title makes you suspicious at start, but it isn't classic modern trash with some prostitute (prostitute in any form) who accomplishes what she wanted and it's always about money and easy life, of course. the only reason why this makes some difference is her ability to see how things could end up in the future if.... (I don't want to tell the movie here, it's enough).

anyway, we have here this generic blonde making this movie adjustable for average audience. we have generic plot, and generic trash with very nasty and up to no good title character. she is, of course, always a step ahead, sexy, should be pretty, but we've seen prettier and as I said very immoral and capable to do anything. despite de palma's attempt with her special ability which is actually very marginal, this movie is totally cheap, generic, many times seen, chewed in and spit out for stupid audience to swallow. it's stupid to emphasize erotic component just for cheap attention as it's stupid to insist on dramatic aspect in porn movie.

trivia - she is 4 inches taller than antonio banderas

not so good

considering rest of markovic's work, this movie takes low position on list of his movies, for someone else it may be average, but not for goran markovic. as we are used to negative associations for yugoslav communist authority in markovic's movies, same thing is presented in 'vec vidjeno'. movie is about the man who is piano teacher who wasted his exceptional talent, primarily because of his childhood traumas which effected the rest of his life to the point of absolute mental decay. he associates nowadays reality with scenes from his childhood (explanes movie title)and general atmosphere is very melancholic and heavy, but not strong or effective enough and that's the key problem
