Paradise: A Town of Sinners and Saints (2024)
Makes you want to sing along
This came out of nowhere. I saw it on a whim (liked the poster to be honest), and loved it. I am not a blue grass music fan, nor a musical fan, and barely like comedies. But this one had me singing, tapping my foot and laughing for 2 hours. What the heck did I just watch? What was that cave scene anyway? Who are these people, and why isn't this a cult classic already? I have so many questions... I also think the lyrics are the best jokes in the movie. The animation, opening credits sequence was phenomenal. Really set the stage. (All puns intended)! These actors all have incredible voices, great comic timing, and the direction is top notch! Loved the lighting and sound, and camera work. Overall, it just leaves you with a good feeling and a smile.
Relish (2019)
Just a solid Road Trip movie
I really enjoyed this small film about teenagers who are outcasts, but find a way to connect despite their differences. The music is great, and really drives the action. I love the characters, and all the actors are very genuine and real. I am a huge fan of 24 series, so it was amazing to see James Morrison as the facility director. The issues that face this generation are big, but sometimes the small ones we face every day are much bigger, and each of these characters have their own battles. It is nice to see a movie that just tells a great story. I really enjoyed it and hope others will not listen to the trolls giving it a 1 star. They know not what they are typing and hating on... This is a great little indie film!
