Juno (2007)
There was some blue sh*t....
Okay so I saw this movie over a month ago. But i haven't written a review because I don't know. But after much debate in the chat forums this is my conclusion: I love Juno. Loved it then love it now. And yeah I plan on buying it on DVD when it comes out! A lot of people will tell you, if you haven't seen this film, that it promotes pregnancy, that its unrealistic, or whatever. This thing with that is though. Its an independent film even though some deny it, it is! And with independent films you can really only enjoy them because you want to see them for their meaning and try to understand where they are coming from. And i can bet 90% of people who went to see this movie went and saw it because it was "the number one comedy in America". Yeah its funny but you have to understand the odd humor Diablo Cody is coming from. Its not an average comedy its a comedy that deals with something every one finds ohhh so sensitive and thats teens getting pregnant. And i can tell you Juno doesn't promote that. It shows a mature out look on how the situation should be handled. And as for it being unrealistic, thats not true either. Its just uncommon. But if people hadn't noticed the whole family was a little uncommon. I say see this movie but don't expect your normal happy funny ass comedy. Its little bit different than that.
Descent (2007)
Disturbing Yet Boring
Okay so i found out about this movie and I watched the preview read almost all the reviews and was having a hard time debating whether I should watch it or not. Before i even watched the movie i was emotionally weird on it. i was so unsure if i was going to watch this and be disturbed for like a long time. So i choose to risk it and watched it and heres what i thought: The beginning started off fine for me. It seemed to be heading in a decent direction. Got past the rape scene and i couldn't figure why people were so disturbed or bored by the movie. Don't get me wrong the rape scene was just as sad and scary but it didn't really bother me to a dramatic point. Then as the middle came in i understood the boring stuff that was going on. There was like 5 minutes shots of nothing but people walking around saying or showing nothing! its one thing to have a shot where a person is showing some kind of emotion but this movie didn't have that. It had about 3 of these pointless scenes, where you see the main character Maya kind of get out of control but it didn't show it right making me want to fast forward. Then when she engaged in the hardcore partying it wasn't so boring but still a little dull. Oh and as a note Rosario Dawson still did a great job. Okay moving on so finally after an hour of pointlessness to the middle the revenge comes to Maya's attention. Thats where it got disturbing. I didn't feel bad for him or nothing he got what he deserved but the whole scene was really disturbing and i just felt all eck after it. I cant really tell you whether or not to watch this movie because its so...i don't know i cant find a word to sum it up. But if you choose to watch it just don't be unsuprised.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
Favorite Movie (speaking for Vol. 1 and 2.)
Ha okay so this is actually my all time favorite movie. Some of you will totally agree with me and others are probably thinking uh what the hell is your taste level. Okay so i figured out with this movie its a love or hate. There is no middle ground. You cant watch it and say thats okay. You'll either watch it and be like YES! QT has done it again. Or you'll sit there and be like this is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen! thats just the effect the movie gives you. being said I'm one who absolutely loves every inch about it. i love the fight scenes, i love the dialog. and i love the acting most of all. i can actually watch this movie appreciate the acting but still enjoy the story at the same time. I think this is Carridines best and i know others are like nuh uh kung fu is the best...um no. He did such a great job playing Bill. and its hard to play a character where its 99% evil. but do it in the unique way he did it. so carridine is good. next uma...i mean who Doesn't think shes a good actress. and i like that she does movies like this. shes great, i love how she delivers her lines. amazing. then as for the others...Micheal madsen, Daryl Hannah, Lucy Lu, and vivica fox. they did a great job too! i love this movie, i think you should definitely watch if you haven't.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
Uh...
Was i the only one who thought this movie was bad? i don't know I'm not trying to be mean here but i thought it was one of Tim Burton's worst movies. i mean i love Tim Burton but i just thought this was utterly bad. i mean the blood looked so fake...it just made the whole thing disturbing beyond watchable. and i love disturbing things but i did not like this. i think it was terrible.
don't get my wrong i think johnny totally deserves his Oscar cause he plays the part (yet again) to well. and Helena Bonham carter was great in it. but none the less i just thought it sucked up and down. so i don't know. most people seem to like it...guess I'm not one of them.
