The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: Coming Home (2023)
Oh please no; don't come to the Mont St Michel
The nest is the new hype place to visit for the TWD fanbase; at least I am sure it will become.
So please avoid.
The new reunited family arrive at the nest and is welcomed like heroes. It is not difficult to see the multireligious theme of the episode. See, we can all leave together in piece even if we are praying differently a same god (old testament of course).
What could have ended well (Daryl leaving) is stop once again by a kid. How the hell did he managed to survive and follow Daryl.
So as his granpa', Daryl decide to fight the war in another country (we have learned that a season 2 is coming and likely a Third as a new caracter - Carol- is joining the show ).
So it is clear that Season 2 will have two axes (daryl parenting and carol trying a way to go to France) before the final season three leading to the reunion of the two main caracters (please make a baby).
If you still had doubts about TWD surviving after 10 years, now you know the answer: it hasn't.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: Deux Amours (2023)
Super Zombies, united religions and a stupid kid
What can I say more that what is written in the title?
Super zombies? At least the Doctor is not speaking German (but has all the physicial ressemblances).
United religions: So the show has decided to be a tribune to religions and how they can save the world. From a religious point of view, it is difficult to understand how Faith would still be possible in a world falling apart in which man remain a wolf to man.
This show reminds me of those video games sequel which always bring two new types of zombies, more badass than in the first game. In the show we had the zombies boilers and now the super zombies (they run, jump, are super strong....); such a bad idea.
Oh and guess what, God will forgive those who make bad things (if you think that killing a zombie is a bad thing).
One more episode and it is over. Thanks god ! (oups damned)
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: La Dame de Fer (2023)
Where are the zombies?
Spoiler alert: one the first scene takes place at the Eiffel Tower when Laurent tries to reach ot but it blocked by a wall to prevent what seems to be a huge horde of zombies. But quite easlity the wall made of bags of sands collapses and what we thought was a horde is just a group of 20 zombies that go after laurent (if only they were successful)
Rick would have killed them in 3 minutes while still eating a sandwich but Daryl is getting old and slow.
Other Spoiler: do not ask how, but laurent succeed in taking shelter under a part of a fence, hidden from the zombies (yeah sure) but is finally kidnapped by three guys. It seems that Laurent can't scream and run as he couldn't leave the car even if no one was keeping him from leaving.
Once more, the episode is terrible; the acting is getting worse and worse. Do you remember those horror movies in which kids are just the worst character and you just want them to die... well if it wasn't the case yet, this episode is the key.
But we are curious to see how badder the show can become.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: Paris Sera Toujours Paris (2023)
Paris restera toujours Paris
Oh so after 12 years, Paris underground life is still on; that is terrific but likely not possible. We have seen in TWD that all ressources are gone but not in Paris, France. Of course not. Champagne and candies for the kids. Energy and water are free but not for everybody. Funny to see that the upper class leave in the basement and the lower class leaves outside.
The new bad guys are caricaturals as hell. We don't believe any minite that these people could have survived the fall. They just over act and this is really anoying.
But do not worry God will help the good ones to prevail against the bad ones.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: Alouette (2023)
Started well but blown away with the new encounter
Seing the fall in Paris was interesting. Not as good as Fear the Walking Dead but at list it gave something to see and some good acting. But then patatras... a new meeting with a bunch of kids, fluent in english even talking amongst themselves, and giving the idea that 10 years passed by like nothing. It seems that producers have decided to put religion and religious discussions at the centre of the show. Not sure to understand why especially as the show is taking place likely 12/13 years after the fall.
The caracter of Laurent is already a p... in the a..; he sounds like Eugene in the Walking Dead but I am not sure that the changes will be the same. Can't wait Laurent to turn.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: L'âme Perdue (2023)
ça commence mal...
After the 15th first minutes, you understand that something is wrong. Poor acting, no plot and no zombies. Do they want to show that french actors are bad ? Then it is a success. Do they want to show that writing a plot at 2 am in the morning after too much drinks is bad? Well that is a success too.
What the hell have they done with a great show (at least the 5 first seasons).
I hope to be wrong but bringing religion as a keystone of the show doesn't seem right. It is difficult to understand the reasons why Daryl is in south of France and how he survived on the sea without food/water and a short beard.
