The Chosen: Episode #5.1 (2025)
What a start
Oh, where does the time go? We're already on Season 5-that's crazy! And this season covers the final week of Jesus' life. Recently, I studied the entire book of John and even memorized the whole thing, so this season is going to be really enjoyable since it pulls so much from John!
This episode was a great premiere. It started with such an emotional scene, and the rest was really well done. Their cinematography has seriously leveled up-it's insane comparing Season 1 to now. I also feel like the writing has improved a lot, with better dialogue and stronger acting. Everything about this feels like an upgrade from previous episodes!
I can't wait for the rest of the season. If you're on the fence about watching this, do it. Well, I'd suggest watching the first four seasons first, but this is absolutely worth it!
The Chosen: Moon to Blood (2024)
wow
I understand that this wasn't directly from the Bible-much of it, really, the entire episode. However, it's a TV show, and I believe it has the potential to grab the attention of people who aren't Christians. Yes, the ending wasn't a great representation of Jesus, but I'm sure there's a reason for it, which I'll likely understand later. The creators made it intense not just for Christians, but for non-Christians who enjoy dramatic content, to pull them in and make them ask questions. That's how I see it. Personally, I was shocked by the ending, but I also kind of expected something like that, given how much artistic license has been used throughout the series. I really enjoyed this episode, and I think it will spark curiosity in others.
Sound of Freedom (2023)
DEEP
Wow......it was a very deep and moving movie. Almost made me cry at some parts. I actually did tear up a few times. Sex trafficking is no joke. Especially when it is is wih children. It is TERRIBLE and he movie portrays it perfectly. The acting was superb. Jim Caviezel's facial expressions were so.......real. I wasn't expecting to leave the movie feeling this way. I would make dark jokes about ped0philes and child sex trafficking a lot. I feel very guilty and wrong if I do that now. It is not a joking matter. It is quite serious.
All I can say is that the movie was amazing, but very very moving.
The Watchers (2024)
Intense, Suspenseful, Perfect
I went into watching the movie with low expectations, but by the end, I was amazed. It avoids gore, sexual content, and excessive language, relying instead on suspense, which works really well. While the first 20 minutes are a bit slow, it picks up and improves significantly-I thoroughly enjoyed it. Personally, I think its 5.9 rating is unjustified; it was genuinely scary and suspenseful with some surprising twists and turns. Discovering it was directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and produced by her father M. Night Shyamalan was a pleasant surprise. Overall, the movie was fantastic and highly recommended for anyone seeking a thrilling, yet not overly gory, experience.
