On the Line (2022)
Maybe a generous rating but plot twist was good
Ok let's start off by saying, I'm not a movie buff or expert on movie design but I will say as regular person this movie was slow. Almost safe to say cringey of Mel Gibson, however when the excitement started it really had me going. I went through a couple people I thought was going to be the culprit but it really did get me as I was not able to guess or even closely guess who was the antagonist here. So the fact that I couldn't figure it out is why I gave it more stars. Than the plot twist of the plot twist I was like WOW it's hard to find movies for me that give me a "got me! " response. The idea was great execution by Mel Gibson 2 stars.
What Jennifer Did (2024)
Expected outcome but a good doc nonetheless
I have seen my fair share of docs. They become a bit predictable. I define a good documentary good if it can hold my attention. This held my attention because Jennifer was a really bad liar and I was invested on exactly how she'd start to crumble. I do feel bad that all the pressure she felt lead her to desperation was her reality but she really wasn't right in the head. The investigators did a good job at not giving up. I wonder why they didn't release photos of the other two involved tho? It gets a 7 because I didn't play on my phone much but predictable guilty verdict. It would be nice to get a follow up from the dad and get a part 2 out of this. Thats just my documentary addicted self talking tho. I'm sure it's too traumatizing to have him talk about it.
