Beowulf (1999)
Truthfully...
I liked this movie. At some points I was wondering "What's with the music?" and "Is this with the time period?" stuff like that. Kyra, to me, was an over-feminest, big cleaveged woman, wearing pants. Now, I'm not a historian nor do I actually know enough, but I thought women didn't wear pants in the 6th century. If I am wrong, I stand corrected, but that doesn't sound right to me. Beowulf's leather outfit reminded me of a Keanu Reeves wannabe. Grendel's mother is a Pamela Anderson look~a~like who would make a better porn star than a real actor.
Alright, so it may sound like I hate this movie, but I did like it. I never read Beowulf, but plan on doing it, eventually, so my opinion on this movie is based on seeing it alone.
Overall: 6 1/2 out of 10.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
pure brilliance!!!!!!!!!
this is probably the greatest movie i have ever seen. Wonderful performances by all of the characters but especially Andy Serkis, who performed Seamgol/ Gollum. Excellant battle sequence, compared to the measly 15 min ,give or take, in Fellowship. 10/10 hands down.
On the Line (2001)
just an awful attempt to keep their teenybopper images intact
the only real reason I saw this was because I won tickets to go to the premeire in New York(long story, don't ask). It was okay because Bass, Fatone, and the guy with the bad hair, J.P or something of the sort, were present. So were most of the actors in the movie. Anyway, it was okay for me because everyone in the theater was unison with the laughter and cheers. But the NBC movie reviewer that sat behind me said that he hadn't seen such an awful movie in a while. I thought it over too and I do have to agree with him. The plot's weak and the acting needs some work. It's a cheap knockoff version of serindipty. I would warn you to never see this movie. Don't even consider seeing it.
The Matrix (1999)
b*****n baby
This movie is a b*****n movie. Not only is the special effects awesome, its just the movie itself. Its about a guy named Neo, who perfectly normal during the day but is a computer hacker at night. He is trying to uncover what has pulled over our eyes: what is the Matrix. It gets even more suspenseful and and you can't even move from your seat. totally 10/10
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Its pretty good
This movie was pretty good. Though it did not have the richness of the book, even left some parts out, its half decent. But I can understand that they couldn't do all of the filming. England laws have a bunch of things that child actors have to do during the day cutting filming time into four short hours. I am disapointed that J.K Rowling hasn't written the fifth book due to the fact that she is helping out a lot at the set.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
eh......
this movie is very good...if your like me and like to read the scrolling caption. Even if not, you kinda have to be artsy to really like this movie. In with the first 15mins, I was like "who the h*ll would watch this shyt" However after that its a story of love with really cool songs. Watch it and decide for yourself.
