Porcelain Unicorn (2010)
Good movie
I saw Porcelain Unicorn. This story is very easy to read and understand as it connects the story during the war and after the war is over. I have never been to war, but it is very easy to watch, even the not-so-good portrayal is handled in a pop way. I was very moved by the story and loved it. This story shows us that even in a world without war, human kindness does not disappear and cannot disappear even if there is a war. We have learned through this story that we cannot live without helping each other. I was very moved by the small acts of kindness in the midst of war, and the spirit of help that we have not forgotten since childhood.
J'attendrai le suivant... (2002)
Comedy
In the film I'll Wait for the Next One, a seemingly lonely middle-aged woman walks home alone. As she descends the escalator, her gaze lingers on a couple who have boarded the other side of the escalator. At this point, it becomes apparent that she has no man in her life and is probably looking for love. This story is about a woman who longs to find love. The obvious obstacles preventing her from meeting a man are conceivably her age and lack of confidence. To overcome her obstacles, she naively trusts the claims of young men and is blind to reality. The young computer scientist who offers himself facilitates the older woman's involvement with him by his persuasive and desperate pleas. The film is about one male passenger who makes fun of the young man's plea and jokingly offers up his wife, trampling on her blind trust. The content is very interesting but very complicated.
Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times (2017)
Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times
I watched a movie called Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times. It's a British film by Marcus Markou. It tells the story of two men, seemingly very different from each other, who happen to meet five times over the course of several decades. Alistair and Samir meet five different times, but it is only when they meet as old men that they can finally put their prejudices aside and meet as friends. This film champions friendship and compassion over separation and distrust. We've met five times and we're both strangers every time, but maybe in the end we know it all. It was a very warm and fuzzy feeling, including the aftermath of the meeting. The film brought up the issue of racism. Once again, I thought about the importance of being kind to everyone and being careful how you treat people.
The Crush (2010)
The CrushA
I watched The Crush. A little boy falls in love with his chool teacher. One day he gives her a ring at the end of class. The teacher is happy and the boy is very satisfied. When he goes out with his family for the weekend, he happens to meet the teacher on the street. When he looks at her hand, he sees that she is wearing not the ring that the boy had given her, but the ring that the awful man she is with gave her. The boy is angry and makes a plan. He asks the boyfriend to fight a duel. The little boy goes to the duel with a gun. The man laughs at first, suspecting it is a fake. The teacher is worried that the man does not come back, and impatiently tries to persuade the little boy to put down the gun when she arrives. She knows that the little boy's father is a policeman. Suddenly the boyfriend hears this and becomes impatient. The little boy tells her not to marry the boyfriend. Then the man gets agitated and says he will not marry her. He says he does not like the teacher. The little boy fires his gun, and the two realize it is a fake. The teacher is angry at what the man said and takes off the ring. I don't like what the boy did, but I'm glad the teacher realized that the man was a scumbag.
Fish Out of Water (2005)
Fish out of water
I watched Fish Out of Water. The main character is a very smart man. He rows his boat to work instead of driving to avoid the morning traffic. Things get crazy when he meets a beautiful blonde woman who noticed his boat one morning. The beautiful woman smokes on the boat. He let a woman with a bad attitude on board. The next day there is one more person, and then more people. A blonde beauty and a fat guy. The fat guy eats snacks and throws the garbage into the sea. The next day, the number of people increases. They do not help the man, but do what they like. He looks troubled. He does not go to the boat place the next day. I thought he would drive, but he puts on a body suit and swims to work. I was very surprised he solved the problem without complaining. I would have asked for their help or asked them not to come back.
Knick Knack (1989)
Knick knack
I watched Knick Knack This film is an animated Pixar short directed by John Lasseter of "Toy Story" fame. It is about a snowman in a snow globe who falls in love with a doll and struggles to escape from the dome in order to get closer to her. I thought the content of the story was excellent and could only be done by Pixar. The content is just right for a short film. I really empathized with this desire to escape from the role of reality and go out aiming at the girl. I found Pixar's animation to be very cute and likeable. The punchline felt perfect and I couldn't have predicted the two-step punchline. I felt that I would like to see a sequel to this story. The content was appropriate and very lovely, and I thought the animation was very good and not too old-fashioned, even if you see it now.
The Lunch Date (1989)
The Lunch Date
A wealthy white woman rushing down the platform to catch a train at New York's Grand Central Terminal bumps into a black man, resulting in the woman not only missing the train but also dropping her purse. Under these circumstances, while waiting for the next train, the anxious woman pays with coins to buy a salad for lunch, but when she returns to her table after going back to get cutlery, a homeless black man is eating her lunch. How bold is he? She has dinner with the stranger and he buys coffee for the woman. It is not until he leaves that she looks around the room and realizes that her food is on another table. I found it very interesting and well drawn with very surreal content. It reminded me that there are not only bad people in the world, but also many good people.
Gasman (1997)
Gasman
In Gasman, the season is Christmas, and fathers and children are heading to get ready for the Christmas party. The kids look so depressed. They are dressed up, which they are not used to, and wear leather shoes. Christmas parties are not so common in Japan, so it was very new to me. They meet a family on the road along the railroad tracks where they are headed. The father speaks as if he has known them for a long time. The family consists of a mother and two children. The father gives the woman some money. I thought it would have been better if he had hidden it better or not given it to her when the children were around. I found out that the children are illegitimate children of the mother. I felt that there was a disparity in the way the illegitimate children were dressed, as the other children are dressed nicely, whereas the illegitimate children are dressed a little dirty. They end up going to a Christmas party, all the four children and their father. The kids have fun playing when they get to the Christmas party. The illegitimate child gets tired and sits on her father's lap. Seeing this, the daughter says to the illegitimate child, "That's my place." The illegitimate child says, "That's my daddy." The daughter does not know the illegitimate child and does not know what this child is saying, but they fight. The father is angry with his daughter and tells her to make up. The party is over and the five of them are going home along the railroad tracks again. I found this story very complicated. I felt the father was a pretty terrible person. He should make everyone happy and the way he was angry with his daughter at the party was very offensive.
Father and Daughter (2000)
Father and Daughter
Father and Daughter is a very beautiful film. This short film does not use dialogue, but uses
music and animation to express emotions. The story is about the separation and reunion of
a father and daughter, and is very sentimental and touching. The animation is very good
and beautifully expresses the beauty of nature and the changing seasons. The coastline
and forest scenes are especially wonderful and draw the audience in. The music is also a
fascinating element of the film, adding depth and emotion to the overall film. The music and
animation are in perfect harmony and resonate with the audience. Personally, I love the
part at the end when the daughter tries to stand her bicycle, when she finally gives
up, when she reaches the boat through the tall grass, when she surrenders herself to the
boat, when she wakes up and meets her father, and everything else. Father and Daughter
is an excellent short film that beautifully depicts the universal themes of love, parting, and
reunion, and is very moving. Even without words, the emotional narrative leaves a deep
impression on the audience. In my opinion, it is a work that moves both children and adults.
