Another Life (2019)
Series 2 really ups the quality
I watched series 1 a couple of years ago and I thought it was ok, not great just ok . So when series 2 dropped I left it a few weeks and then checked it out. Series 2 is a real step up; a far better plot and great acting. Definitely worth a look if you're new to the show. You could start from series 2 and not be lost.
History of Swear Words (2021)
Awww come on ...
I had high hopes however 90 percent of the first episode details contemporary use of the swear word - I can just turn on the tv or Twitter for that. I wanted to understand the historical evolution - unfortunately the 'history' in the title is covered briefly and superficially (and I actually think inaccurately, but they may well know more than me).
The Crown: The Hereditary Principle (2020)
Great acting and hidden relatives
Very well acted by HBC.
As with many episodes there is so much speculation regarding motivations.
It's ironic the story centres around 'hidden' relatives when the writers/producers seem to have completely overlooked Princess Margaret's two children and the impact they will undoubtedly have had on her life.
Alan Bennett's Talking Heads: An Ordinary Woman (2020)
Brave
Rarely do you watch something and think how brave just to write it let alone perform in it. It's uncomfortable yet gripping.
