Slaxx (2020)
Surprise!! It's good👖!!
I was originally not going to see this.....let's face it, a scary movie with a possessed pair of jeans as our killer??!
It really is the apocalypse, right?
But surprisingly enough this Canadian horror follows films like Prom Night and Terror Train - which coincidentally were also lean, low budget films from Canada.
I'm not going to tell you too much, but if you get the opportunity to have a watch party with this, jump at it. If you live somewhere that you can actually go to the theatre as I did, it's a great opportunity to enjoy a somewhat silly horror film with appropriate lashings of blood AND a social message. It's no classic, but I know I'll never forget it!😆
Great fun, very glad I rolled the dice on this.
Sarah Colonna: I Can't Feel My Legs (2015)
Great way to laugh across the country
Not sure why this has such a low rating. I give it a 9. Saw it on a 5 hour flight across Canada last week had such a hard time NOT laughing like a hyena. For my money she is funnier than Amy Schumer and doesn't swear quite so much. There were at least four separate times I had to just hold myself back from explosive laughter. Her dating life(was? I hear she actually met a DECENT guy and got married) a rich source of disastrous laughs. And wait until you hear her trying to convince her lesbian best friend that she, too, is gay.
Melody (1971)
It was magic
Wow. I've just finished reading all the other viewer's comments. Isn't it amazing how much one little movie has affected (and continues to affect) so many people for so very long. I, too, saw "Melody" a long time ago-31 years now!!-and loved it so much that to this day I can still feel inside how it touched me back then. I'd loved "Oliver" so much I wanted to see "Melody" for both Mark Lester and Jack Wild...I did't expect to have my heart totally taken over by this movie. I loved when Melody and Daniel went to Battersea Park..when Ornshaw tried to hide where he lived..the cello recital...Melody's ballet practice....I don't think I have ever seen a movie that has made me feel so - I don't even know the word - wistfully happy, I guess. It is a wonderful movie and it's beyond me why it isn't readily available.(That's why I signed on today, to look for it. If anyone can help me find a copy PLEASE email me) If you haven't seen it and you get the chance, watch it, you'll love it. If you have seen it and you get the chance to see it again...enjoy it for all the rest of us. A wonderful, wonderful movie.
