Witty with Heart
15 November 2005
I must first say that I wasn't looking for a new show to watch. My T.V. schedule was full with other shows; however, I kept hearing about this show called "Related". I decided to give it a chance, a friend had all the episodes so I decided to watch the first four in one sitting. I was very pleasantly surprised. It is well written and the actors know how to act. There is enough diversity that you can relate to at least one of the characters if not bits of each them. The story lines are good and make you interested in seeing more. I really love the interactions between the sisters, as well as their interactions with the men in the series. Related is a show about family relationships (father/daughter, the new step mom-to-be/the girls, husband/wife, and of course the sisters), as well as relationships between potential boyfriends and the women. This is a show which you can laugh with the characters, as well as cry. I am glad that The WB has added this show to their Monday night line-up to hopefully give it a chance to survive.

The Terminal (2004)

Rent it...
21 June 2004
This would make a great rentable movie... I paid $10 to see it in the theater and it wasn't that great. However, Tom Hanks did an awesome job. There are a lot of funny moments in the movie, just maybe not worth $10/person. I think Catherine Zeta-Jones was good in this movie, she made her character believable. And then the Stanley Tucci was very good, too. There are some very slow parts, making you wonder why you care. But all in all, you do care for the character and his plight to go into New York City.

Finally, I would recommend reading the true story about an Iranian man living in Terminal 1 at CDG airport in Paris so far for 14 years.

Hysterical Blindness (2002 TV Movie)

Kind of Like a Train Wreck...
26 August 2002
You wish you could look away but you can't... you get hooked into hoping that there is a point to the story... but... Anyway...

First to start with the good, the acting was incredible. Uma makes you really want to smack some sense into her and basically she instills a lot of disdain for her character; her portrayal of an immature brat that acts like she never grew out of her rebellious teenage years was fabulous. Gene and Juliette are just awesome actresses who really shown in their roles. The outfits, hair, dialog, and music really did make you feel trapped back in the 80s.

Other than that, the story didn't go anywhere. You saw a snippet of an immature, attention seeking, b****'s life, who you really wish would get hit by a train, so as to end your misery.

The end of the movie really makes you think... huh ? I just wasted 2 hours watching that instead of reading a book ??? It is very slow and if you are thinking of watching a movie to escape reality... this is not the film for you. It is not the fairy tale happy ever after story. It is true to life and depressing.

Simply excellent...

This is a movie that one must see! The ideas put forth in it are well written, the wit and humour of the movie are wonderful and of course John Hannah is simply a dish. I like the twists and turns that the plot takes, the emotional roller coaster, and the fact that the ending isn't the typical "Hollywood" style. Also, Gwyneth pulls off her British accent yet again. It is a movie that one can watch over and over again.
