How to Date Billy Walsh (2024)
extremely cliche and predictable but enjoyable
Only watching this cause of sebastian lol
not sure who's target audience this is, but it's extremely cliche and predictable. There are a lot of moments that don't make sense or aren't realistic based on the preceding events, but there are some moments that are funny.
If you're drawn to this movie from the advertisements of sebastian cosplaying as a dumpster, you may be disappointed as that's like the most minimal plot point and he's only in it for the smallest fraction of the film.
I think the 1st person talking to the camera style actually fits it quite well, not too cheesy when it happens but yea. Opening sequence was also phenomenal, but the second time we see the ball at the very end was a little weird and the most cliche part.
Soundtrack is also great!! Fits the movie really well and my jaw dropped when i heard stupid and tongue tied.
Would probably watch again, not obsessed with it but not horribly bad.
Heartstopper: Perfect (2023)
perfect!! 💯
This episode specifically drifts the farthest from the comics, which i like actually. I already read all the comics and it was nice and caught me off guard to see something so new.
They way the finale was executed was beautiful. Although there is one thing i can pick on: the whole season between nick and charlie's relationship was based off of nick coming out to everyone and this was the climax of it: going to prom with your boyfriend. And at the end of the prom scene, charlie mentions that they've been obsessing over the idea of coming out for so long they forgot why they wanted to do it in the first place and then they leave. (so like it was all lead up to the prom and then they just leave because they realize they don't owe coming out to anyone?)
anyway, lovely episode. The last scene broke me and i'm still recovering. I'm so excited to see what's in store for season 3. The only thing i'm worried about is if it will still have a heartstoppery feel to it. By this, i mean having a warm and just queer-happy environment. I could easily see this as going the other way as volumes 4 and 5 are much more darker than volumes 1-3.
