I tried to like this show, I really did. But all it has done is re-hash every plot line from HIMYM. Trying to find a long lost dad...sound familiar? A mom who slept around..sound familiar? A break up because one partner never wants to have kids...sound familiar? Do I need to go one? Still waiting for the writers of this show to have a single original thought. The return of Barney was cool, although they could have done it better. This show is a mishmash of all of the old episodes of the original, but with bland characters, and actors who have no personality or comic timing at all. When/if they finally reveal the dad, they'll probably just kill him off.

While recovering after heart surgery at the Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, a commander dies due to an internal flash and the resulting fire without any apparent external source of ignition; Gibbs and company investigate. McGee suggests the possibility of spontaneous human combustion (SHC), Gibbs makes fun of it, Ducky declines to ignore it, and Abby digs it. However, Abby says that it's murder. Tony sees again a friend from Gitmo, then a party in a hotel room leads to a missing officer at a swimming pool. Ducky wines and dines the woman surgeon, but he later becomes disappointed in her. Abby finds a key fact, then the team solves the mystery.
Seriously don't get this character. A misogynistic, narcissistic POS who brings nothing to the table. I stopped watching the show foe a while, picked it up after this a-hole was gone. Shame he wasn't killed.

Just like Lost, the writers, producers, whoever, just decided, "screw it, we're done". In the first couple seasons this show had so much potential. The first sign that the writers had lost their vision and went to just collecting a paycheck started the ghettos and "the ghost", it was really uneven from there. The last season was sometimes cool, sometimes a train wreck. Was most disappointed with how they handled Pope. He always had an edge in earlier seasons, but also with a bit of humanity, despite the bravado. A sympathetic character with his relationship with Sara, then suddenly they decided to kill her off and turn him into a comic book psycho. The final confrontation between Pop and Tom was absolutely the laziest ending between two adversaries I've ever seen. Overall, a decent series, but the final episode was one of the worst ever.

For the first 40 minutes, really liked it. Good plot, good storytelling, was feeling that it could have led to other storylines that could have extended this for another season. Then came the ridiculous last two minutes. Really, Pope went from showing his compassionate side to running "thunderdome" just because his girlfriend died? Found the character of Pope's to be interesting until the head shaving, then it went from possibly compelling to just stupid and predictable. Really thought they could have done more with the character. Overall, season 5 has been good, had potential for another season.
