George and Kathryn are a couple of spies, a married couple of spies. In this 2025 spy thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh. George (Michael Fassbender) learns of a possible leak in the organization and given the unenviable task of finding out who is responsible. Perhaps his wife (Cate Blanchett)? This film is filled with mystery, deception, and surprising twists and turns which will keep you guessing. But in my opinion not enough action which you might expect. As a huge James Bond films fan I might be somewhat jaded when it come to spy films. The cast is is strong and the plot is fine. I was just hoping for a bit more.
No matter how miserable you feel about your life Pansy Deacon (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) will make you feel so much better. Pansy is married to Curtley Deacon (David Webber) for the most part a quiet, hard working, pleasant Plumber. The complete opposite of Pansy who is loud, angry, depressed who lashes out any anyone and everyone. Writer/Director Mike Leigh does an incredible job at showing us the root cause for Pansy's issues and how she attempts to drag down everyone around her including her sister Chantelle (Michelle Austin). Marianne's performance is nothing but exceptional which had to have taken a toll on the actress. The rest of the cast is good, the film is beautifully shot. This film didn't get the recognition it truly deserves. Definitely a hidden gem worth seeking out.
It was dark, dreary, cold, and a constant feeling of dread. These wI had no idea about this film. Never seen a trailer, no promotion tour that I was aware of. Then I found it on a website that list release dates of films and the more I read about this film the more that I was excited to see it. This film did not disappoint at all. Ere even felt in the comfort of my Living Room. I thought the cast was really good and the directing by Thordur Palsson was excellent. There were plenty of scary moments in the film to keep every Horror fan happy. Isolation alone can be frightening thing to deal with, even though their is handful of others close. The story takes place in the 19th century so you can't flip a light switch or see what's on television. I was totally thrilled I discovered this hidden gem of a film and I hope you will as well.
