Kick-Ass (2010)
Welcome back Cage!!!
spider-man / super-man... take a break... here cometh Kick-Ass brilliant movie with superb action sequences and an amazing performance by Nicholas Cage (Big Daddy) Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) had his share of great acting too The script was very impressive... this is a kind of flick you sit and watch and wonder what the heck is gonna happen in the next 10 seconds... kept me at the edge of the seat throughout...
the real star with a very promising performance yet was that of Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl).. wonder where did little girl came from... this was the second time i saw Chloe (the first being 500 days of Summer) and God she's grown into a great actor...
eagerly waiting for the sequel... to see some more ass kicked
Avatar (2009)
A Visual Treat...
This is perhaps the finest movies ever made... I was glued to my seat throughout the movie... Every thing was perfect about the movie - the breadth-taking graphics, the acting, the script and the most appreciating part was the movie's Direction James Cameroon had set the bar and raised it to such an extent that is difficult (if not impossible) for others to achieve Terminator, Titanic and now Avatar.. they'll be movies that'll be known for a very long time
The 3D version was simply amazing... The sound effects and cinematography was class apart
I am going to watch this movie one more time.... and of course in 3D again :)
Up (2009)
Last year I said, it couldn't get better, I am proved to be wrong
After watching WALL.E, I thought that no one can make a better movie (not just an animation movie, but a real movie) than that... Well, I am proved wrong.. Here's comes Up... An amazing story of an old man and a young lad... backed by a very cute dog... Put all this together and you can see magic in front of your eyes. Very few movies keep you glued to your seat and you eagerly wait to see, what's gonna happen next? You won't move a muscle.. you won't even take a breadth... Up had that kind of effect on me A must watch for every kid/adult.. no matter how old...
UP has raised the expectations again... I now wonder what Walt Disney and Pixar will come UP with in their next project?
Taken (2008)
Fasten your seatbelt... and enjoy the ride...
there's only one force that took over the entire movie LIAM NEESON Hard for a person for his age to do such role, but he did it perfectly I was at the edge of my seat throughout the movie The actions were so real; kudos to the sound mixer Everything was perfect and Liam made it look so real, I bet the audience was perplexed. This was the 2nd action flick that I saw after In Bruges and I have to admit that I liked this even better (no offence to that movie). Well, this movie also reminded me of one of my other favorite flick: Commando (remember all-muscle-man Arnie)
Go watch this movie (CAUTION: remember to take a seatbelt and tie it through the end of the movie)... coz it'll take you on helluva adventure ride
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
When was the last time you saw a great movie???
My friend asked me that question and I said... TODAY
I saw The Shawshank Redemption today, yes nearly after 14 years it was released and after 26 years of my life on earth... I should have seen it much before, I guess. I am truly moved by the story and more than that by the character roles played by Morgan (Red) and Tim (Andy). I have to admit, this is not one of the greatest, BUT THE GREATEST movie ever produced.
Brooks was there, so was Red... I wish I was also there to see it for real.
This movie gave me new avenues, new thoughts, new energy and more than everything... it gave me what it gave Morgan Freeman... HOPE
Khuda Kay Liye (2007)
Go Watch This Movie, Khuda Ke Liye... In the Name of God
Khuda Ke Liye... is undoubtedly the best movies ever made. Each and every single character in the movie has played a very important role. This was the first Pakistani movie that I saw, and I have to admit I am very glad that I saw it. I liked Iman's role the best.. The Brit girl Mary/Mariam who is put against the odds and in the end overcomes it. Mansoor (Fawad) also played a brilliant role... and also the most touching. Sarmad's role was quite mature, though I believe he was the youngest in the lead. Naseeruddin had a very useful part towards the end of the movie
I would strongly recommend that go and watch this movie... Movies like these are not made everyday
A definite 10 out of 10 rating...
Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008)
Reminds me of Dil Chahta Hai....
JTYJN is truly amongst the finest movies made... Everything was perfect; the writing, screenplay, direction and characters.
Rats did a great job as a newcomer... Kids got a great talent and will go a long way.
Meow is the good old 'girl next door' chick... Her character was somewhat similar to what she'd played in 'Boys' (Tamil movie).
Boms... was the cutest girl.. with the cutest smile throughout the movie..
Rotlu played a fine role... Jiggy ruled
The good thing about this film was you were not able to predict what will come next and when it came.. you were shocked :P
Guest characters in the movie were like icing in the cake... Sohail, Arbaaz, Naseer and Paresh
This movie truly deserves a standing ovation and all the applaud.
Recommend it to kids and adults of all ages.. GO watch it with your friends, family, and loved ones...
ARR's music was undoubtedly amongst the most important ingredients in this recipe which made this feature film very delicious.
The Happening (2008)
The Happening Night!
Saw this movie yesterday... on Friday the 13th...last show which started at 2230 hrs. I was expecting a real thriller and rater R horror flick, Night didn't disappoint this time. I was very upset after watching Lady In the water... couldn't believe it was from Night. Mark Wahlberg stole the entire show. Brilliant job.. although this role was totally different from what he play in The Departed.. nonetheless, it was perfect. what i liked in this movie, is that it was very much different from a typical Night genre movie. the happening of events could be very much real. in a nutshell, it was a very good concept. i would give it a 7/10 the best part: James Newton's music & of course, Mark W. the worst & wasted part: Zoey
Go, watch it once...
Cast Away (2000)
Zemeciks & Hanks: They bring the Gump magic back
This is one of the finest movies ever made. I've lost count of how many times I have seen it. It was only about the Director and the Actor.. both of them have done an excellent job. Four years in an island... all by yourself... no one could have thought of anything like that. The best 'silent' actor in the movie was Wilson and his attachment to Chuck (Hanks). Kudos to the writer and director for introducing this character in the movie. Many viewers would feel that after Chuck returns from the deserted island, the movie starts getting boring; and that the director should have deleted a few scenes. However, every single take in this film was related to each other.
I would definitely give Cast Away a 10 out of 10 star rating **********
