Saint Maud (2019)

Mental health shown from the individuals perspective
2 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is not what I would call your everyday horror or thriller.

I also don't think it is religion esculating in to obsession and then spiralling in to a serious mental health illness.

I think this is the story shown from the perspective of someone with Bipolar, which manifests with religious idealisation, delusions and hallucinations which are all shown as "Maud" would experience them herself, unable to seperate the real from the manifestations of her mind it shows how real these appear to "Maud" and in the context of what she is experiencing and seeing her actions would be logical to her.

This indeed gives a very chilling feel to the film and I found it very thought provoking and at times intense.

Educational if just to bring light to the subject and discussion on how terrifying and difficult it can be dealing with a mental health illness, if not more frightening the lack of support people can have leaving them isolated and alone at the most difficult of times. That is a real scare!

Makes you ashamed to have eyes
11 June 2011
Right what would you get if you had a £10 budget, rubbish CGI people, people that have never stepped foot in an acting class, a director out of there senses and production who are apparently drunk? The simple answer is this film. No one can give me back the time this film has robbed me of. It is certainly the worst film i have ever watched, and i have watched many. I love films from many different genres, but I'm always up for anything with action, occult and horror references. This film however bobbles all over the place, between really awful acting, terrible effects and a rambling strange and often incomprehensible story. People will say this is a B movie but really it can't even merit that! the characters are so wooden i think they came pre varnished. All you are really left with is sitting there thinking, how the hell did i fall into the trap of paying to watch that? Trust me don't pay to watch it, don't even watch it when its available for free, there are many more worth while things to do with your time like counting dust particles or individually plucking the hairs from your toes!

Transformers (2007)
9/10
Why can't people just enjoy a film and not pull it to pieces!!!
21 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Transformers was never made to be an intellectual Oscar winning film. Its not meant to evoke discussion on a booker prize level.

What it is in fact is a great action film. A whirlwind from start to finish.

I admit I had heard bad things about it and i really wasn't looking forward to watching it. I am however very glad I did, this is no kids film as i thought it would be, but what it did do was make me feel like a kid again.

If you want to watch a emotive film with content that instills thought and conversation...... go watch Gandhi or Syriana..... if you want and easy to watch fast paced fun action film... watch transformers!! There were some small issues with continuity but i always find them a fun part of watching any film.

What does slightly shame me is the emotional attachment i developed for Bumblebee...... i'm a professional 31 yr old for heavens sake... and i sat worrying about a robot car, quite embarrassing i think So sit back, take off you intellectual head, grab a drink and enjoy!! It supposed to be fun and it is!!
