Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
Better than part 1-- but only a little.
I am a helpless completist. There are VERY few things in this world, when it comes to entertainment, that I can prevent myself from finishing. So, yeah, I watched "Rebel Moon: The Scargiver" tonight. I found myself underwhelmed, but I can't be surprised by that.
Gonna admit it; it was better than part 1. STILL BAD, but had... three scenes that worked RRRRREALLY well, and again, the cast is phenomenal. But, in the end, "Rebel Moon" is still the absolute worst remake of "the Magnificent Seven Samurai Battle Beyond the Galaxy Against the Nazi Cylon Wannabe Empire" that ever has been (or, oh, please, please, PLEASE, *WILL EVER BE*) MADE!!!!
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
New levels of bad
The short version of my review is: Fantastic cast wasted on a complete piece of garbage.
If Snyder EVER has an original thought, the poor thing is absolutely 1000% certain to DIE OF LONELINESS! I felt like I might go MAD if I tried to keep straight where he lifted what bit from. Yes, this happens in other movies, of course it does-- but in those other movies, there's enough GOOD to distract me from that. Here? Oh, hell, no!
The man's OBSESSION with ultra-slow motion was another problem, and the movie could have been several minuntes shorter if he'd used ORDINARY slow motion, which would have actually worked better.
It's garbage, seriously. The whole meme thing of "Star Wars with blackjack and hookers" is in no way wrong. If anything, I think that it's understated. I'm CERTAIN that it will be understated when the R-rated version gets released later this year.
Save some brain cells. Avoid it like the plague.
