Re lie (2023)
making my blood boiling
There are many sports themed movies, but it is not easy to make them outstanding, unconventional, memorable, and leave a deeper impression.
Re Lie did it. The director invited many professional street dancers to assist, and the two dance scenes at the beginning and the end had extremely exciting visual effects. The plot and conflict setting were also very gripping. The kind of emotional outburst that nobody endured for their dreams, faced a dilemma, and finally showcased their brilliance on stage was particularly vivid and delicate.
There were no absolute villains in the play. Kevin is not a completely uneducated and inexperienced child of the ultra-wealthy. He had his dream about street dance and had a strong pursuit for it though he could do whatever he wants just by relying on his family's wealth.
The majority of characters in this movie are nobody. The impressive scenes of the pursuit of dreams by nobody were not on their high light moments, but rather on the process of pursuing their dreams. Lei Ding is a middle-aged man who live in poverty. When sponsor divested, Ding Lei as the leader of "E-mark" dance troupe could not pay their monthly rent of the training venue. He broke his leg while dancing when he was a young. And he divorced. So He was eager for success. So he chose champion Kevin and abandoned the unknown Shuo Chen, which made the audience very empathetic. As Shuo Chen said, the strong make choices, while the weak are chosen.
Shuo Chen is even more miserable. He had to work several jobs to pay off his family's debts. He grabbed every minute to dance in the early morning, late at night, and even on the last train. In order to stay in the dance club, he dressed like a garbage can, and danced in a comical pose in public for advertising garbage can. At last, he won the championship.
Most of people such as Biao Biao were not anybody, and they had to give up street dance in order to make a living. They had also been dream chasers, and did not become somebody at last. Most of everybody is Biao Biao.
It's a fine film that commands attention from first to last. The performance of Bo Huang (played Lei Ding) and Yibo Wang (played Shuo Chen) let me feel the blood rush to my head. I had gone to cinema three times for this film.
Yu Gu Yao (2023)
reacquaintion for "national aesthetics" and "chivalry".
"Yu gu Yao" told the story of the cold, proud and lonely Shi Ying, the Prince of Kongsang, and the enthusiastic and righteous Zhu Yan, the Princess of the Red Clan, who together overcame difficulties, together grew up, and together protected their homeland.
The soul character played by Xiao Zhan, Shi Ying, is delicate, cold without facial paralysis, noble, pure and innocent, restrained, decisive and occasionally fragile, giving the character a more vivid charm.
They thought that magic must serve the people, therefore, as human being they killed successfully the brutal god. Shi Ying fought continuously with fate, reflecting the true spirit of immortality and chivalry. Whether it is the exquisite and elegant costumes and the ultimate Eastern aesthetics presented in the scene display, the stunning special effects produced by the special effects team of Wandering Earth, and the core presentation of the positive impact of family and country righteousness, " Yu Gu Yao" broke through the Xianxia routine, and let me reacquaint "national aesthetics" and "chivalry".
The acting of the actress played the heroine was is not a quarter as good as other actors, so it can not win higher marks.
Shen hai (2023)
Colorful, confused
Actually, I want to give 6 points, and the extra 1 point is for the efforts of Chinese anime.
The picture is very gorgeous, colorful, and made with a great sense of quality. It can be considered a successful creation of a dreamy atmosphere. But sometimes it can overwhelm the theme characters, and made it confused.
The story was combination of Chinese and Western elements. I can see "Spirited Away", Dementor in "Harry Potter" and the elements of Stephen Chow's movie. It should be a story of self-redemption. She broke free from the shackles of depression in her own dreams. But in my opinion, she still needs external forces, attention, and companionship. In this story, she tells herself in her dream that someone loves her, someone values her, and someone accompanies her. The story interweaved fictional plots with reality. Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish whether one is in a dream or in reality. Perhaps the director wants such an effect.
Slam Dunk: Suramu danku (1993)
nostalgic, tedious
It is such pure 2D anime. The character's personality remains the same as 20 years ago, and the music gives me the feeling of retro rock. Japanese dubbing and sound effects are also good.
But the plot was rather tedious. I haven't seen many sports anime, including 'Baseball Heroes' and this one. But these two episodes have similarities. The leading actor of 'Baseball Heroes' is twin brothers, and in "Slam Dunk" is the Miyagi brothers born on the same day of the same month. One of the brothers always carry premature fates and the whole family hopes. It is important to fulfill their dead brothers' dream rather than their own. It seems to be the biggest motivation to persevere.
In this anime, get discouragement, get more and more discouragement, and then recall the past, and get power at once until the final victory. It's difficult to touch me.
A nostalgic film didn't make me cry, so at most it passed the line.
Chang kong zhi wang (2023)
burning, touching, funny
Born To Fly should be considered a successful commercial film. A special operations team headed by elite pilots challenge the limits of the fighter jets and themselves. Scientific researchers, medical staff, and many, many personnel unknown to the public work hard for a lifetime. And test pilots have demanded resilience and sacrifice. They are willing to contribute to building the more powerful homeland.
The film belts along at a cracking pace. It was funny in the first half of the movie, and the second half is tear-jerking. The air battle part makes people's blood boil.
In terms of themes, aesthetics and value system, it demonstrates a strong and typical Chinese style. It is different from U. S. movie Top Gun.
Wu ming (2023)
Details, suspense, action
I watched it four times. The movie was suspenseful, and full of details and metaphors, and I had to watch it again and again to verify the doubtful points. I had to put down my phone more than two hours because the story was told with speed and punch.
The director Er Cheng used non-linear narrative to tell the story of underground workers. The pictures in his film were beautiful and shocked me with strong visual impact though the main color of pictures was dark.
The acting was excellent. I can feel depression, pain and grievances of underground workers. There was a wonderful fight scene between Tony Chiu-Wai Leung and Yibo Wang.
I love all actresses because they were so elegant. And I think Xun Zhou, who played Mrs. Chen, is one of the best actresses in the world.
