Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Good Ones (2021)
Oh why ruin a great show
I was gutted when B99 was cancelled until I started to watch s8.
The biggest pile of woke drivel on tv.
So glad this is the end of the show but I don't know if I can suffer another 9 episodes.
R. I. P. A great show (s1-7).
Only Murders in the Building: The Boy from 6B (2021)
What a pointless way to spoil a show
This has been getting better every episode until this train wreck. Sure if someone is deaf have them use sign language. But to have a whole episode where characters don't talk to each other is just plain stupid wokeness for being woke sake.
I lasted 10 minutes before I could watch it no more, so if I miss something then the series is ruined by this pointless stupidity.
4k picture, great cast but then no talking...seriously Hollywood has gone mad.
Around the World in 80 Days: Episode #1.7 (2021)
Who knew?
That Jules Verne was writing about woke values in the 19th century....wait a minute he wasn't .
This is now so very boring and the episodes have less and less to do with the great work of literature and more to do with the BBC leftist agenda again.
Whoever green lit this rubbish should be sacked.
Around the World in 80 Days: Episode #1.4 (2021)
Around the world in 80 years
Or that is what it would take given how far they moved in this episode.
Seriously this episode was so slow a snail could outpace it. We got a pointless episode about an army deserter that has nothing to do with going around the world.
I'm only sticking with it for now as I love the original story but this is poor stuff.
Around the World in 80 Days: Episode #1.2 (2021)
What a load of tosh
Insert leading female character...check
Insert black character where one does not exist.....check
Make male white character insipid, weak, and boring...check.
Ruin a great story.... Check
Well ticks all the BBC boxes for the 21st century.
I'm afraid this is what we get from now on.
High School Musical: The Musical - The Series: The Field Trip (2021)
Of Dear
The downward trend in season two took a sharp turn for the worse in this appallingly poor episode.
Where season 1 got almost everything right, season 2 just gets everything wrong. The acting is terrible, the songs badly performed and everything is so wooden.
Olivia should run for the hills now before season 3 starts.
Another reviewer mentioned Glee and yes Glee had its ups and down but it was a far far better show in its worse moments than this dismal season 2.
High School Musical: The Musical - The Series: The Storm (2021)
So boring
I unexpectedly loved season 1 and was very much looking forward to season 2.
Oh boy what a difference a year makes.
This is just dull and getting duller with each episode.
It's like they have no idea where the story is going and the writers make it up as they record the episode.
I do so hope it picks up or I won't reach the end of the season as I'll be Zzzzzzz if this carries on.
Foundation (2021)
Hmmm ...what to make of it.
Is this Asimov's Foundation, no it most certainly is not.
But it is great television.
Yes with it being made by Apple you have to put up with all the casting changes. Male characters become female and mostly black at that. Is it annoying, well yes it it to those who have read the books and have formed pictures of the characters in their mind.
If you have not read the books it matters not one bit except for the fact that I would not want to be a white actor in Hollywood these days.
It is visually stunning and well put together. The characters they have created add to the story and it is never boring.
Once again it seems that they have imported Michael Burnham from Star Trek Discovery as all female leads seem to have to look like her these days.
Well worth a watch, but it would have been even better if these stuck to the books and stopped changing character gender and ethnicity.
What If...?: What If... Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark? (2021)
So bad it could be from the DC universe
This is a really dull and boring episode.
One has to wonder who approved such a terrible script.
Some episodes have been brilliant so this show is very hit and miss.
I just hope the remaining episodes are better.
What If...?: What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord? (2021)
Hope things get better
First episode was brilliant so I had high hopes for episode 2.
This however was just plain dull with no creative spark or sense of fun.
T'Challa is a very dull character anyway and served to drag down Nebula and the other.
The only highlight was Howard the Duck!!
Reservation Dogs (2021)
Really refreshing series
This is how you tell stories about differing communities in a country.
There is no "woke" agenda like so many new shows but tales about a Native American bunch of teenagers. It is funny, charming, and very well acted by the young cast. Throw in a few older character actors who add hugely to the story and you have a great show to watch.
I hope series 2 can live up to the excellent start, and that it also keeps away from the dreadful rampant wokism the liberal fascists love.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Just a little tedious
The action scenes were good but the rest of the show suffered from slow pacing which meant it could be tedious at times.
Of course being made by "woke" Marvel we had the usual gender swapping to remove men and create female roles, and as usual we are lectured about race time and time again.
The race thing grated on the nerves so much I'd have happily seen the Falcon meet his demise.
The story would have been better paced with 4 episodes not 6.
Just give us classic Marvel with roles portrayed as originally written and without other cultures appropriating our comic culture.
Summerland (2020)
Utterly charming movie
There is no crazy action or high drama here, but what there is, is gentle, moving, and brilliant.
Gemma Arterton carries this film from start to finish in what is in my opinion her best ever performance.
She is crazy, unhinged, weird, but then melts as the story unfolds. It throws in a surprise I did not see coming and ends beautifully.
The supporting cast is excellent but this is one woman's film.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Wow..stunningly bad
Everyone involved in this production should hang their heads in shame.
The studio who made it must be thanking their god that COVID meant that Amazon bought it so they did not loose a truck load of money.
Unfunny, bad or non existing acting, and a stunning lack of diversity at a time when diversity is such a hot topic.
Clearly colour blind casting only works in one way in certain studios.
The Rookie: Bad Blood (2021)
At Last
Now this was an episode of the Rookie.
I dropped one star for very minor wokeness but other than that the episode was back to how the show used to be.
Funny, charming with a great story.
Nice to see Nathan and Molly together again.
Please more like this and no more woke nonsense.
Carnival Row: Kingdoms of the Moon (2019)
Simply Brilliant
I liked the show after the first two episodes, but this one was simply stunning.
Marvellous work by both Cara and Orlando and a fabulous bit of back story which tied the earlier two episodes together.
Can't wait to see where this goes.
The Rookie: Revelations (2021)
Zzzzzzzzzz
Here we go...defund the police raises its head.
I'd hoped we were at the end of the woke, but no off we go again.
I do trust however that an episode covers antifa and the mass criminal behaviour they partake in.
That it covers serial criminals being caught and released with no punishment.
That is covers how lawless the US is becoming and that rapidly the US of A is becoming a third wold country.
What a shame that the best cop show on TV is being destroyed one episode at a time.
The Rookie: Sabotage (2021)
I could scream with frustration
I gave 3 stars because this episode has some classic Rookie fun elements and put a smile on my face. The cast as ever are all great actors BUT then the woke bull started again.
Honestly it is so boring and preachy that it just makes you want to turn it off. It would be a huge shame if the show lost its audience and got cancelled because of the woke crap.
I know they probably felt under pressure to do it, but the majority who watch clearly don't want it.
Intergalactic (2021)
Woke drivel
Just because a show is woke does not mean it is bad for example The Irregulars is woke as hell but also well acted with a great script. Here however actors have been cast based on gender and race, but clearly not acting ability.
The acting is consistently poor, the script needs rewrites, and the direction is student level. The premise is good but the execution is awful.
Cast actors who can act rather than those who tick a box or make a quota.
The Professor (2018)
Great Little Film
A simple charming, warm, funny, and sad movie where Johnny Depp reminds us what a great actor he can be. Don't get me wrong I love his zany knockabout stuff as much as the next person, but this is a refreshing change. Slow but never boring and a great backing cast. Recommended.
The Aeronauts (2019)
Brilliant yet needlessly woke.
It gets nine stars from me as it is a fabulous piece of entertainment.
Visually it is stunning and the two leads are brilliant in this movie.
If you are afraid of heights I'd give it a miss as wow the aerial scenes are breathtaking.
However I agree with many others that this takes away from what was a great real life story of two Victorian aeronauts. The woke brigade got a female lead (even if she was great) and there was no need for that. People of colour (or whatever the PC term is these days) were liberally scattered to tick other boxes for no good reason other than ticking a box.
If you want to make a film of the exploits of Glaisher and Coxwell then make it about them.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)
Best Star Wars ever?
Having just watched the final three Star Wars movies i was so depressed.
They wasted Han, wasted Leia, and well let's not mention Luke.
Then I watched season 7 of the Clone Wars and it bought a tear to my eye.
This is Star Wars for the fans, it was epic, it was joyful, it was brilliant.
Seriously the whole final season was a joy, but the final four episodes were some of the best, if not the best Star Wars ever.
Ashoka Tano is my favourite character and she did not disappoint...if only we could have more of this.....
Black Panther (2018)
Worst Marvel film ever
It gets three stars because it is a Marvel film so of course it looks good.
Other than that what a let down.
Ponderous, pointless, and slow.
The back story was just absurd and the characters dull and boring.
I don't know if it was the sound track but the voices were muffled and difficult to understand at times. Many actors were wooden and it felt almost like an amateur cast albeit beautifully shot.
