Isekai ojisan (2022)
A masterpiece
We've all seen high school students get isekai'd by Truck-kun, get overpowered, and then save the world.
But what about the original world? What happens there in the meantime? Is the hero really dead in the original world? Many stories come with many concepts (like that story where the girl writes a letter to her family so that they know she's isekai'd).
Turns out our uncle went into coma in the original world when he got isekai'd and woke up from coma after saving the other world.
It is a story that revolves around a nerd who reacts to all the changes that happened in the years he was in isekai.
This is a far better plot than a lot of isekai out there. A new concept that doesn't involve any crazy fights or something. Just an uncle randomly showing his isekai moments to his nephew.
Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau (2022)
Generic "kicked out of hero's party"
It feels like most other "kicked out of the hero's party because I was useless" story.
- MC is in the hero's party.
- MC has a non-combatant role.
- MC is kicked because they found someone else to replace him.
It's okay till here because that's what most similar stories do.
- MC suddenly gets portrayed as a very powerful character.
It's still okay because it makes sense that you don't know the true worth of something you have till you can't possess it anymore.
Where does it get worse?
- MC gets a harem of demi-human girls.
Yes. No, I don't hate harems in general. This one just felt too much.
However, the series isn't fully bad. Since it is not a revenge story, it doesn't feel bad watching the MC build a harem. If you forget logic and you just want a fluffy anime, it does the job.
Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! (2022)
It is cringe because it is supposed to be
A lot of people seem to think the manga was far better than the anime.
It is mostly due to the side story becoming the first episode of the anime. Can't blame them since starting with Cid's monologues would have bored people out.
If there was one thing the anime failed to do, it was about showing Cid's pre-reincarnation self where he was described as a hunk.
Some people complain about the anime being cringe and turning into a generic harem. However, Cid IS a chuuni. The entire novel revolves around Cid being the cringiest yet coolest character. Romance? Nah we all in for the comedy and action. They just don't get the whole point of the anime. It is not "Reincarnated as an assassin". It is Eminence in Shadow. It isn't supposed to be a serious plot.
If you think the anime is cringe, it means the anime did a good job.
Edit: I forgot to mention but I too am salty about Shadow Garden's masks missing in the anime.
