Sweet Tooth (2021)
Can't wait for season 3!!
I put this in my watch list and it sat for a while. I finally decided to give it a watch last year. They did an excellent job of casting, acting, directing, etc. I absolutely loved getting to know all the characters in the first season. I was hooked from the first few minutes! It was fun following Gus and Big Man across the country and the adventures they had along the way. I was thoroughly invested in all of the characters. I enjoyed watching the doc and his wife and the pursuit of finding a cure for "the sick". Season 2 picks up with Aimee trying to get her kids back, and she meets up with Big Man wanting to get Gus back as well. You also get to follow along with the side story of Becky. Honestly, I cannot wait for season 3, as I am curious how they are going to wrap it all up!
Summer Camp (2015)
Give it a shot
I literally just got done watching this and I have to say that it is one of the movies that I am glad I watched. I have seen some really bad movies in my time too. The scenery is pretty beautiful, the acting is pretty darn good, and the story line is fairly unique. I thought at first that it was going to be a lot of the cliche young camp counselors drink, do drugs, and hook up, but was pleasantly surprised. The action starts pretty early in, and keeps going until the very last second of the film. There are a few twists and turns, and there is an explanation, which I highly appreciate. All in all, this is a pretty solid film that I would recommend watching. I also wanted to add, I noticed several reviews mentioning shaky camera work and lots of grunting. I didn't notice, nor was I bothered by the first, and the second kinda goes along with the "condition" of the people in the movie.
Monsters (1988)
Loved this show!
First of all, you can't compare this show to Tales From the Crypt, simply because that was shown on paid cable tv, and Monsters was on regular tv. Obviously you can show and do much more on a cable show. I used to watch Monsters right after Tales From the Darkside. Both shows were awesome to an 80's kid who enjoyed campy horror shows. I also grew up watching Svengoolie, and this fits right in. If you're looking for blood and guts, this isn't for you. But if you enjoy practical effects and makeup, then give it a shot!. I even re-watched them several years ago, and it still held up after all that time.
