Marketplace: Putting EVs to the Test (2024)
Season 51, Episode 10
10/10
Must-watch TV viewing.
27 January 2024
Every EV owner and everyone considering an EV purchase in the next few years should invest the time to watch this program. There are so many issues revealed and discussed here, from driving range (especially in cold weather) to charging time and non-working charging stations. Cost of fuel ranges widely as well, and there are no uniform standards yet. It's very difficult to get repairs done, too. Even if you find a trained mechanic, it can be a long wait for parts. Every senior politician should see this episode as most of them seem to be mandating everyone to switch to EVs in the very near future. Buyer Beware! We're sticking with our reliable gas-powered vehicle, thanks!

Very well done reveal
23 January 2023
The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't won the Stanley Cup since 1967 and this well done documentary explains pretty clearly why the team failed from 1968 thru 1992, or almost half of the 56 years (and counting) spent in the wilderness. We have been following this team since just before it began winning 4 Cups in the 1960's, and not surprisingly it's been pretty depressing. Ballard's goal throughout has been to enhance his personal wealth and he was so fortunate that hockey fans in Toronto kept buying those hard-to-get tickets throughout. As long as revenue remained high, Ballard saw no reason to "waste" it on quality players or coaches or scouts for future players. The fans became enablers of his greedy lifestyle. Priestly has done a fine job of interviewing all the relevant characters from the late 60's thru 1993. Current Leaf fans will find this educational, especially those under age 35.

Not cool.
9 May 2022
Using the 'I've got cancer card' with every sales pitch is neither cool or funny. Especially when the sales girl is in remission and is not currently suffering. One of the worst programs we've ever watched.

Romance, weddings
4 May 2022
This episode tells the interesting stories of the romance, courtship and weddings of the three first ladies. The episode synopsis is totally incorrect.

As bad as episode 1709!

Had to quit after about 10 minutes. Terrible, boring and irrelevant writing. No medical content. The writers should be fired. Perhaps Rimes wrote it herself?

Series ender?
20 December 2021
Seems like all the various story lines were resolved. Have to wonder if this is the last episode for Heartland? If so, it's been a great run, with fine acting and interesting story throughout!

Much too long, boring
27 November 2021
This is 7 hours of preamble to the 30-minute rooftop concert enjoyed by a few dozen in the audience on nearby rooftops. The a/v technicians did a fine job, but most of it should have been edited down to about 30 minutes. We made liberal use of the fast-forward button thru 80% of it.

Not really sure what this is!
16 October 2021
Each "episode" is only about eight (8) minutes long! Just as it starts, it's done. Bewildering. If one of the producers has an explanation, it would be great to see it here.

The worst this year
10 May 2021
We found this to be a total bore. Guessing Pompeo is not returning. Will the show return next year? Will it be called 'Greys Anatomy' or 'Shonda's Follies'?

So repetitive
26 April 2021
This is just more of the Gospel according to Shonda. Same as G. A. Week after week. Repetitive and tiresome. Time to move on, Rimes. Or quit.

Depressing
11 April 2021
As most episodes are in season 17, this is depressing more than entertaining or informative. Looks like Ellen Pompeo has left the show, or perhaps she is deceased? Either way, the title needs to be changed. How about Depressing in Seattle instead of Greys Anatomy?

The most confusing and irrelevant episode in 17 years. This is the last season for G. A., right?

Somewhat troubling
16 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Not a badly done series, but it really emphasizes home cooking efforts. The breadwinner, presumably the father, is never shown going to work, or arriving home tired. It's as if the entire series takes place on Saturdays, with all non-cooking time spent on little projects and outdoor winter sports! Also, the harsh Canadian winter is really promoted as so much time is needed for meal preparation. Changes in jobs, schooling, entertainment, technology, etc are almost non-existent in this 60-year series. In reality, Canadian life remains quite modern by world standards.
