The Last of Us (2023)
Perfect Adaptation
It's a story not a game. The story is filled in with what was missing from the game, and the shootouts were left for the game. We all know the game by heart. We don't know the full story and everybody wants to fill in the story with what they play out in their heads. We get to see a story filled in by some strong heads.
As far as the 3rd episode goes, I'm shocked at how amazing it is (I'm a guy with a girlfriend and have zero far left agenda. No bear jokes). It could have been a short and won an Oscar on It's own. EVERYTHING about it filled in somebody's version on screen and was absolutely amazing. I wouldn't worry about the bill and ellie pokes, im thinking that will be remedied in the future.
Night Court (2023)
Wrong Review Trekies
Writing hit the nail just write, characters, set, and atmosphere was spot on. I grew up on this show, made my parents tape it, know the way it should feel and they nailed it. I get there are people out there with conditions where certain things go over there heads, hard to comprehend new actors, whole idea throws them off. I'm sorry, I looked it up, no meds for it yet. It's a solid idea, good writing, and the atmosphere was spot on. Simple as that. In fact, if it isn't that simple... I'm sure the Quantum Leap section would suit you best. Listen...
...it sounds like a condensending lecture, kind of has to be for the amount of letters Im required, but go back and watch the 80's and 90's episodes. Then watch the new season immediately after. Matches perfect. If they do a Cheers reboot I'll be all over the page like a trekie high on dr pepper and dorittos.
The Lowe Files (2017)
Not that Lowe
I enjoyed it. The first episode had better evidence than a lot of paranormal shows I've seen. I like the idea of father son adventures, there seems to be actual bonding happening. I know they seemed a little bored at first, but the kids actually grew on me when I saw them pick up on it. The bonding made the second episode good, no evidence of bigfoot but the kids genuinely looked like they had a good experience.
No they're not an expert paranormal team, but who is? Maybe the show is something for a family to sit around the tv and have some bonding themselves, look in to what they've done as a family and maybe decide to go camping. I think they have as much equipment and experts on as any other show has, so not sure why that would be an issue with anybody. Give it a chance and watch it with family, a lot of people don't have that option.
Quantum Leap (2022)
Oh boy
I liked it. Im going to give it a chance to warm up, even seinfeld wasnt recieved well right away.
Of course it's not the original, you cant replace Al and Sam. With the amount of cast it's probably going to take a while for the show to develop well. I hope there aren't a ton of episodes explaining backgrounds. Focus on the two main characters 90% and the job at hand. Let everybody elses story just pop in like puzzle pieces.
I feel it has potential if they leap to the point. More room for character development, which the original was brilliant at. Keep the characters in the future at a minimum, we dont need the why right away.
