Mr. Robot: 407 Proxy Authentication Required (2019)
SPEECHLESS.
Watching this episode is the most incredible and deeply emotional journey... I cried so hard... the most wonderful yet painful episode of television I have ever watched and probably ever will watch. The performances, the music, the most upsetting twist in tv, the intensity, the plot progression, the cinematography, the pay offs, the writing, the pacing, the way the episode is split up into acts as if Vera really is just watching and enjoying this "show." I have no words, I'm speechless and I cannot express my endless gratefulness for this masterful episode of television. Thank you. Goodnight.
10/10.
The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary (2014)
Incredible
This episode was absolutely superb and there wasn't a dull moment. Beautifully written, executed and... just wow! I am utterly speechless after watching 'No Sanctuary.' Series 5 is clearly going to be the best season yet as this is my favourite premiere episode of all time. From excellent character development to the horrifying brutality and cannibalism of the Terminans perfectly encapsulated. I am busting to discover what is next for the group after all of this devastation and thrilled to see everybody reunited, as together they are truly stronger. This episode was outstanding, gripping, never dull and unimaginably phenomenal!
The Walking Dead: Beside the Dying Fire (2012)
An Excellent Season Finale
This was an absolutely superb season; the setting was perfect and it made for many intense and shocking moments, the character development was prominent in many members of the group, the storyline and plot was intriguing and always kept us on the edge of our seats and there were even some rather major deaths throughout. In my opinion, the second season of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' was a huge improvement after a great but not incredible first season, despite a fantastic pilot episode. The last few episodes of this series have been packed full of blood, deaths and startling moments, but I believe the season finale takes the top spot.
After Rick had no choice but to eliminate his best friend (Shane) as Shane was planning on shooting him, the survivors were all eager to fully understand what had happened. In the penultimate episode, Dale's brutal demise was really unpleasant and emotional, which made Shane's death even more unanticipated and dark. Rick tells his wife Lori about the incident and says that in desperate circumstances sometimes you have to do what has to be done. Following his confession, Lori seemed relatively angry and upset about Shane's murder, although she was clearly relieved that she's now in a safer position. Rick later informs the entire group that he was responsible for the passing of Shane, which results in elation, but also sadness.
Previously, Andrea was my least favourite character, due to her appalling decision making (eg. Shooting Daryl), unnecessary attitude and evident weakness, however in this episode, she seemed to be doing a brilliant job taking down several walkers, which has changed my opinion on her slightly.
Hershel was practically forced by the others to unbridle his inner fighter, after the barn zombies (who he believed were just sick people who needed to be cured) were mercilessly slaughtered in the seventh episode of the series. It was really powerful to see such a substantially religious man helping everyone out with killing to defend the farm, even though they were the primary reason his home was destroyed.
At the beginning of the episode, I thought it was cool seeing how the walkers managed to reach the survivors and invade the farm in the first place by following the helicopter in which Rick was also using for navigation in the first moments of the series. The episode was one of the most thrilling and action-packed of them all, as the main storyline is just one epic final battle against the walkers, as Hershel's farm becomes increasingly destructed.
The end of this episode sees Rick aggressively speaking to his team and reassuring them that they will stay alive as long as they stick together, but Andrea has just encountered a mysterious figure in the forest, with two armless people after they saved her life. Upon hearing Rick's ideas, Glenn and Carol have differing thoughts, which an assertive Rick immediately dismisses. This lines up series three to be a really exciting and strong season and I am confident that it will be.
Good Morning News (2021)
Useful and always enjoyable
I have watched this wonderful web series for a long time now and every rundown and update is always entertaining and enjoyable. Hugh Murphy makes audiences feel uplifted and focuses on the positive/happier side of the news, whilst still informing everyone on the current events. I am not a fan of the news channels myself, however whenever I want to know what's going on, I head straight to the 'Good Morning News' YouTube channel and check out previous videos. Not only are there reports, but Hugh also creates challenges and additional episodes, where he tries something new or visits a historic landmark ect. He honestly never fails to entertain and deliver brilliant broadcasts.
Stath Lets Flats (2018)
"Does it remind you of being in PE, Helen?"
I can't begin to explain how much I love this show. I laugh relentlessly every episode I re-watch. Series 1 was hilarious, Series 2 was laugh-out-loud excellence and Series 3 was phenomenal. The brilliant comedy show really does just get better and better as the episodes progress. Even the pilot was a great bit of comedy! My personal favourite moments are when Stath jumps in the lake, attacks the pigeon and when Live Love Lets shows up to the viewing and Stath has a fight with them! The show is nowhere near as popular as it should be, as in my opinion it is in the top 10 best ever british TV sitcoms.
Stath Lets Flats: A Pushy Boy (2018)
Great Comedy
Despite this being the pilot episode, it was a great start to the series in my opinion and made me snort with laughter! Every joke is perfectly executed and the awkwardness is hilarious. I am so glad I continued watching the show after this as it only gets better and better. In this episode, Stath decides to take on the duty of capturing a pigeon in a client's property and he ends up causing absolute calamity and mass destruction. Also, we get introduced to Stath's sister, other funny colleagues, his father and his friend Al- who Stath makes bleed with a whiteboard- that pretty sums up the show for you. Absurd Channel 4 comedy at its best. Jamie Demetriou is so talented!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Slightly Disappointing
I was very excited for the release of this movie as Doctor Strange is one of my favourite characters in the MCU, however I was slightly disappointed by the lack of plot and clever script writing that was put into the creation of the movie. Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen were great as usual, however the story line was very poor. The sometimes stunning visuals and action sequences made the film perfectly entertaining and I enjoyed it pretty much the whole way through, but with a bit more time and effort in crafting the 'potentially awesome' story, it could have been 10 times better. Thor: Love and Thunder was quite a bit better, however this movie was not that bad compared to other recent MCU films.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
The Best Thor Movie Yet
After Thor: The Dark World was rated the worst marvel movie of all time for obvious reasons such as idiotic plot, badly coordinated action sequences and barely any action, Thor: Ragnarok changed the game entirely and soon became one of my favourite marvel movies. I had pretty high expectations for Thor: Love and Thunder and they were unsurprisingly almost 100 percent met! Taika Waititi's funny sense of humour is prominent- playing Korg and he stars in it whilst also directing the movie! The movie was action-packed from start to finish and it was really cool to see Jane return again. Chris Hemsworth was great as usual. It is probably in my top ten movies of 2022 and I'd highly recommend it to any Marvel fans out there!
Bullet Train (2022)
An Epic Movie
From start to finish, this movie was absolutely packed with hilarious comedy, incredible action sequences and stunning visuals. There were some truly graphic yet uncontrollably funny deaths and the plot was full of suspense and mystery. One of the best action movies in a long time! The soundtrack, acting, graphics and all other awesome movie stuff was spot on and I thought Brad Pitt was superb! There are multiple main characters including Lemon and Tangerine (my personal favourites), Ladybug (played by Brad Pitt) and the main antagonist- The White Death (played by Michael Shannon.) A definite must-watch for all action-comedy or Brad Pitt fans!
Hard Cell: Episode #1.4 (2022)
What an interesting episode!
This episode was again still funny, but it was also uplifting and emotional at times. When Ros' 'mammy' finally arrives, she is horrible to Ros and only wants her money from Sebastian. Catherine Tate does a great job portraying Ros' mum and I think it's really clever how she is interacting with herself as another character. Also in this episode, it is really nice to see Ange start to build up her confidence. I am starting to understand the point of having Ange as a character now, as previously she was just a painfully shy and timid inmate who didn't really play any main part in the story or add to the comedy element of the show. Finally, probably the funniest part of Hard Cell so far was in this episode. Laura wants to connect with Welsh Sian and so she hires a translator to attempt to understand her, however he (Ioan) also speaks so quickly that Laura has no idea what he is saying. The funniest thing about it is that both Laura and Ioan fancy each other to some extent but Laura just doesn't have a clue what he is talking about!
In summary, this was a great episode and I'm looking forward to finding out what's going to happen next!
Hard Cell: Episode #1.5 (2022)
My favourite so far!
This episode was probably the funniest episode of the series. At the beginning of the episode, Laura is seen discussing with a new inmate about what her nickname could be and the humour is not offensive but does lightly refer back to when people could get away with that sort of comedy. The episode contains all of our favourite repetitive jokes and gags from past episodes, such as Gary trying to make conversation with Cheryl Fergison, and so much more! Despite all the comedy, there is upsetting news that Cal (who had a great relationship with Sal) is being released as she didn't need to be in prison for such a long period of time. Cheryl is challenged with the musical after Cal is leaving and Big Viv is stuck in solitary. She even claims that she is missing Big Viv despite her being terrifying as she did have a stage presence! The funniest part of the episode though is when Laura and Dean merge into each other and start to side with one another unknowingly! In summary, I'd give this episode a solid 9/10 and I'm looking forward to the final one, which may be even better.
Hard Cell: Episode #1.6 (2022)
The best episode by far!
This episode definitely has the darkest plot outline and story because despite there being a few dark moments earlier on in the series, this takes that to a whole new level. The episode sees Ros (an inmate played by Catherine Tate) receive a letter from her 'mammy' that informs her she didn't use all of the money to buy the campervan and instead has taken it for herself. She also writes that she is not coming to see the show, which makes Ros upset, making this quite an emotional scene. And if you thought that was upsetting and dark, then you won't believe the plot twist at the end! Timid and innocent inmate, Ange (played by Catherine Tate) is released from prison as the opening night of the show arrives and right at the very end of the episode it is made clear to the viewers that Ange has orchestrated the stabbing of Anastasia. Poor Ros was carried away from the scene whilst she was distraught and screaming, as she happened to be the character who stabbed Anastasia with the 'prop knife'. Finally, Charlee's baby is born and she decides (whilst Dean is trying to tell Laura about the incident at the musical) to give her baby to Laura, who agrees to accept the request. In summary, this was my favourite episode by far as it was packed full of laughs, emotional scenes and also a brutally dark plot.
I would love to see Hard Cell return for a new series.
Hard Cell: Episode #1.2 (2022)
Another pretty good episode.
Episode Two of Hard Cell is the worst-rated and least popular episode amongst fans, however I believe it definitely topped the first one. In this episode, we have already established who most of the characters are, meaning that we can find them even funny and humorous due to their personalities. The episode sees Doug informing Laura of a 'plumbing disaster' which causes 'a bit' of a riot in the prison. Also, in an attempt to maintain hygiene, Laura orders gallons of hand sanitiser, only for the inmates to drink it when let outside due to the disgusting smell. In summary, this episode doesn't rank in my 'Top 3 Favourites' but I did prefer it to episode one.
Hard Cell: Episode #1.1 (2022)
Funny from start to finish.
The first episode of Hard Cell sees Catherine Tate play multiple characters including Laura Willis, the governor of women's prison: HMP Woldsley. Cameras start rolling, the casting of the West Side Story production begins and Cheryl Fergison makes her first appearance but is constantly mistaken for an inmate by Laura. Laura works alongside Dean, who claims that his main goal is to get Laura to say 'number two' on camera, which he highly succeeds in!
In summary, I thought this was a great way to start the series and it was really quite funny! I personally thoroughly enjoyed this episode and it made me eager to watch more.
Hard Cell (2022)
Very funny and cleverly written...
After reading many reviews of how Hard Cell was unfunny, lacked plot or wasn't any good, I didn't have the highest of expectations for the series, however it was absolutely phenomenal. At the end of the day, Catherine Tate is the queen of comedy and this series was just as good as any of her other creations if not better. The storyline was packed full of emotional and deliciously dry comedy and had the most unexpected plot twist of all time which was perfectly executed. Catherine Tate played six great characters; Anne Marie, Big Viv, Ros, Laura, Ange and Marco. Ignore critics, I thought it was awesome! Truly awesome!
