Your Place or Mine (2023)
Boring
I was looking forward to this movie but unfortunately I turned it off a little over half way through. The dialog was more awkward than my high school's cafeteria. I love Tig Nataro but whoever wrote her lines failed horribly. I understand dry humor and appreciate it more than most but the unbelievable conversations were distracting to say the least. I admire the premise but the execution was horrific. None of the characters jelled well. The story line wasn't realistic even for a rom com. The dialog was robotic and explanatory instead of telling a story. There could have at least been a little conflict for excitement value. Give the audience some credit. Anyways, I binged Lockwood & Co. Instead and my night was saved.
That's Amor (2022)
That's Horrible
I would believe it if this movie was made 20 years ago and just aged horribly but in what world is any of this relevant in today's society? She gets fired from being an assistant because she's too old to answer phones (at 30?) even though she wants to advance herself? She's been in the office for two years and nobody knows they're signing a birthday card for her? Then she comes home to a cheating boyfriend and fall down the stairs all in the same day. She's too good to take a cooking class with her mom and after two weeks in a cast she needs help getting out of the car and the love interest just happens to be there? Yeah, twenty minutes in and I can't take anymore. Who approved this writing, casting and acting, it's ridiculous and embarrassing.
