Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
Poor script and cast
I'm getting tired of shows like this. The characters are not like real people, and they're not very nice either. It feels like they make these shows expecting no one to pay much attention.
Lately, in British shows, characters often act tough and cool but lack a good sense of humor.
The main actress didn't do a great job, but maybe it's because of the script. They try to show empowered women, but it seems forced and exaggerated. Her daughter was annoying and seemed to be there just to prove that girls can be tough too. This isn't very realistic, and if she were a real person, most people wouldn't like her.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but I'm trying to explain why this show is not good. I couldn't even finish the first episode. Why are there so many shows like this?
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Falls Short on Originality and Relies Heavily on Tired Tropes"
Although I had high hopes for Kang's inclusion in the Ant-Man trilogy, I left the theater feeling underwhelmed. While Jonathan Majors delivered a standout performance as Kang, the film failed to impress in several key areas. One of the biggest missteps was the utilization of a tired and overused trope, the introduction of a child character who inexplicably possesses greater knowledge and skills than their parents. This cliche not only felt lazy and unoriginal but also detracted from the overall quality of the film.
The movie suffered from an excessive reliance on derivative story elements and tonal mimicry of other successful films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it's understandable for movies to pay homage to their predecessors, the result in this case felt more like an uninspired and lackluster imitation.
While I appreciated the strong performances of certain cast members, the film as a whole failed to meet my expectations. I would not recommend it to those seeking a fresh and innovative addition to the Ant-Man franchise.
Suspicion (2022)
Waste of time
I have to say, I was initially drawn into the Apple TV series "Suspicion" by its intriguing premise, but I was ultimately let down by the numerous flaws and inconsistencies that plagued the show from start to finish.
One of the biggest issues with "Suspicion" was its portrayal of the characters. They were often portrayed as foolish and made decisions that were completely unrealistic and idiotic. It was frustrating to watch them make one bad decision after another, which made it difficult to root for them or take their actions seriously.
Furthermore, the show's depiction of law enforcement agencies was equally problematic. Instead of being portrayed as competent professionals, they were made to look like a complete joke. It was hard to believe that these characters were supposed to be protecting and serving the public, given how inept they seemed at their jobs.
As the series progressed, I found myself increasingly disappointed by the numerous plot holes and inconsistencies that seemed to pop up at every turn. It was as if the writers were making things up as they went along, rather than carefully planning out a cohesive and believable story.
And don't even get me started on the finale. It was a complete letdown, and it felt like a lazy attempt to tie up loose ends and wrap things up quickly. It was as if the writers had run out of ideas and simply threw together a hastily written conclusion that left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated.
All in all, while "Suspicion" had the potential to be a compelling and engaging series, it ultimately fell short due to its numerous flaws and unrealistic moments. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a well-written and thoughtfully crafted TV show.
Beast (2022)
disappointing and poorly researched film
The movie " is a disappointing and poorly researched film that is both idiotic and annoying. The characters in the movie constantly make the worst possible decisions and the family drama is forced and uninteresting. The depiction of the lion as a predator is inaccurate and absurd, with the lion lacking basic instincts and being defeated by small knives. The use of CG in scenes with both humans and lions is noticeable and takes away from the movie's potential to be violent and bloody. The film is not scary and is listed as horror unnecessarily. The protagonist's fear and plight are not elicited any empathy and instead only make the audience want her to be quiet. The contrived and predictable plot points are a testament to the lack of originality in the writing and direction.
La casa de papel (2017)
Good series with some big flaw in casting
Tokyo, she's the most intolerable character though and really irritating. Another contender for the most intolerable character is Rio. I don't know why these two characters are shown so poorly & so negatively and given lot of importance. Might be the one who played these rolls. Apart of this, most of the characters are fit in the place and story works fine.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Loved it till Season 4
When Marvelous Mrs Maisel premiered in 2017, it brought with it an intriguing, powerful, and well-written critique on women in society. The show managed to create a terrific balance of comedy and drama because to Miriam's wit and comedic prowess on stage, more than holding her own against husband Joel.
Unfortunately, great visuals and sets can only take you so far. All of your hard work will be for naught if you don't have an engaging story or effective character development. Season 4 broadcasts out to hush, which is a shame because there are glimmers of brilliance in this series, but instead of loud laughs.
The Lie (2018)
Sick
Pathetic twist and sick theme. I want punch those main characters. Or the director. Waste of time.
How It Ends (2018)
Unknown Ending
A movie named "how it ends" actually without any proper ending. Looks like production crew just switch off the camera when they run out of money .
Not Safe for Work (2014)
Sad Climax
Another sad ending movie, entire movie is elevated very well until it turn in to an end. They keep the suspense material even after movie finishes. I am personally hate this kind of suspense or the movies not giving a proper finish.
A very big law firm is going after a very large pharmaceutical company. Tom (JJ Feild) is a paralegal working on the case. He is secretly dating Ann (Eloise Mumford) so the story doesn't become too linear or boring. Tom gets fired and on his way out espies an odd suitcase exchange. He follows the man (Max Minghella) to the 34th floor only to secretly watch him engage in sabotage and then a murder. The film is then consumed with a cat and mouse game that takes place on one floor in an office building. If watching two grown men hiding under a cubicle desk makes your top ten list of entertainment, go for it. Tom forced himself into the situation and could have taken the stairs out at any time. I never felt the intensity. For me the office cat and mouse game was boring and "the twist" was nothing to write home about.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Real twist you can feel
From long time I am a member of IMDb but I never try write a review. But in this case I can not ignore writing review option.
The screenplay was written by Frank Darabont, who based it on the novella "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" by Stephen King. He adapts the material so well that he really transcends it, turning the film into a work of art. Many avid readers will claim the book is always better than the movie, but that is simply not the case here. King is a tremendous writer, but even he can't shade and color the prison the way that Darabont does, which sets the mood for the entire film. The characters King created in the book are deeper and more well drawn in the film in large part because of Darabont's script.
Many moviegoers turn their noses up at the thought of a movie about the triumph of the human spirit. However, even those jaded film fans will love "The Shawshank Redemption" because it sets a new standard for films in this genre. It is an unapologetically emotional and sometimes sentimental take on friendship and life, even when that life is spent in a cage, and will make viewers laugh, cry, and reflect on their own lives in ways that very few movies can. It may not have won a single Oscar, but it will win your heart, and perhaps that is more important.
