Love at First Sight (2023)
Simple yet compelling
Simple yet compelling. A movie that makes you care about the characters with vivid colors and just good story telling. No CGI or big fancy spectacle, but a heart warming movie about 2 people and their very human experience, and of course, love! I missed seeing a modern story told like this.
The movie is predictable but it's done so well you won't even mind
Also the acting was superb
Even the supporting cast did great and managed to get some tears out of me
Overall an easy watch that will leave you feeling all of the feels, even my husband who isn't someone who enjoys romance movies had a great time watching it.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Dinosaur soap opera
I wanted to like this however.....
They managed to make a dinosaur movie boring. That's the best thing I can say, I struggled to get through this movie, with how flat the plot was and soap opera like acting... I don't know how to explain it but the script and they way they delivered it was very bizarre. Even the action scenes were extremely boring and un-exciting Honestly giving it a 3 because the dinosaur cgi was good at times (like the opening scene) but not much else to praise here. I found myself not caring about any of the main characters it was just so forgettable overall, it could be skipped and you wouldn't be missing out on much.
Kamisama mousukoshi dake (1998)
Iconic classic drama
In true 90's jdorama style m, this is heartbreaking, beautiful, funny, and powerful ( with all of the cheesy drama to go along with it) I will always recommend it.
Also best opening song ever!!!
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
If you get it, you get it
And it hits you like a ton of bricks, it's beautiful, powerful, heart breaking, warm, funny
Everything cinema should be
A true modern classic, I will never get tired of watching.
Love Actually (2003)
Am I watching the same movie as the high ratings?
I love rom-coms and thus,I was excited to finally see this but to say I'm disappointed is a understatement.
I found it hard to cheer for anyone except Liam Neeson's story line.
I mean in one couple the husband ends up pretty much emotionally cheating on his wife?? And it's never fully resolved, am I supposed to feel warm about this?
Another baffling situation is Andrew Lincoln going out of his way to confess his feelings to his BEST FRIENDS WIFE like a true sociopath- no resolution there either
And don't get my started on Colin Firth's character
I don't get the high reviews at all.
