Where We Disappear (2019)
Unexpectadly underrated
I wasn't expecting such an underrated work. But I do not recommend to the typical viewer. This is more for those who like the classics.
The dialog was poetic and unrealistic, yet it was what it needed to be. The camera shots were nice but not remarkable, still they were able to convey the feeling of the environment.
The story is tragic, and the representation was powerful. I loved the way that broken people gripped to live, even knowing that there was nothing to live for.
I didn't like the ending because it felt unnecessary. But it might have been used, a suggestion that everyone that have been there have suffered the same.
The Time Machine (1960)
Criticises war, then advertizes for war.
Starts well, ends moronically.
The visuals are not too bad, the acting is dull and the story leaves much to improve.
The dialogs seam to have been written by someone who is not used to read.
I do understand though that it was an original concept and I give it credit for that :)
In summary:
Starts by showing that humans as we know them, will always live in war. Then travels to a future where people are subjugated, but don't even conceive the idea of war. Then he teach them to fight and commit genocide...
This "perfect society" of simpleminded blond people will likely to starve, as they exterminated the only ones capable of providing for them.
