Henna (1991)
A Gem by the Goat RAJ KAPOOR
This film is truly a gem of bollywood and indian cinema. Rishi Kapoor's romantic films are always a treat to watch, as well as his all other films. His presence in any film makes the film worth watching.
Before SRK and after Dev Anand, Rishi Kapoor is the king of romantic muscial films.
This one is sure a classic film and a must watch. Beautiful story, beautiful scenery, the innocence of the lead actress and the way they show the love blossoming is cute too.
The film is 3 hours long, and I guarantee you won't realize when the 3 hours went by. I just got lost in the film that I lost track of time.
All in All, a must must must must must watch film for everyone.
Love in Simla (1960)
Lightheart sweet story
Lighthearted sweet romantic movie. Love in Simla is sure a classic from the golden era of Bollywood. Sweet moments between Sadhana and Joy that shows how their friendship develops into love for each other.
I had skipped few moments in the film and finished the film in 2-3 different days. I regretted doing it when I finished the film, so I'm going to watch this again because towards the end of the film I felt like if I watch it in one sitting, I would enjoy the film even more than I did.
Overall, it's a must watch film for movie lovers. Black and white films have their own charm than the colored ones.
Jee Ve Sohneya Jee (2024)
A Classic
Midway watching this film I could tell in future this will be considered a classic film in Panjabi cinema. The vibe of this film is really good, sweet, funny, emotional, romantic family entertainer.
It kept giving me vibes of SRK classics like Veer Zaara, DDLJ, etc. Amrinder Gill's Lahoriye, etc.
The film as sweet moments between Simi and Imran, and Imran's friend's comic timing is really good in this film. Good concept, romance, destiny, dreams, fate.
I wanted to go watch this film in theatres when it released but for some reason it never worked out. Now watching this online, I kind of regret not watching this in theatre.
Overall, a family entertainment. Must watch.
Hamara Khandaan (1988)
Amazing love story.
Good love story. Rishi Kapoor still in his prime. One of the Best Rishi Kapoor films. I like the pair of Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor ji) and Farah. That's why I watched this film.
I wasn't disappointed with the film. It was really good. Cute scenes between Rishi Ji and Farah were a treat to watch, in every film they did together.
Beautiful scenic places in the film. Little bit of social angle, in the beginning how they show the mindset of people towards having children.
Rishi Kapoor is one of my favorite legends of Indian cinema. He is one of the Greatest of All Time. He's the Dev Anand and SRK of 70s-2000s.
Overall, a must watch film, entertaining.
Naqab (1989)
One of the Best Rishi Kapoor films
One of the Best Rishi Kapoor films indeed. I like the pair of Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor ji) and Farah. That's why I watched this film.
I wasn't disappointed with the film. It was really good. Cute scenes between Rishi Ji and Farah were a treat to watch, in every film they did together.
I have seen Woh Kaun Thi (and it's a must watch film, a classic), the film that inspired this one, but it's not a remake. Some things were similar, and some were different.
Rishi Kapoor is one of my favorite legends of Indian cinema. It would've been little more enjoyable if the villain this film was someone like Pran, Prem Chopra, Amrish Puri, Gulshan Grover, etc. Then it would've been more fun because these legends are the masters of evilness.
Overall, a must watch film, entertaining.
Yeh Vaada Raha (1982)
Classic
Rishi Kapoor is the SRK & Dev Anand of 70s-2000s, playing Loverboy (romantic) roles.
Classic film. Good story, the cast, songs, everything in this film is really good. At first I didn't wanted to watch this movie because it had Shammi Kappor playing elder role, because I like watching movies of his hero days.
But still, one day I did, and I wasn't disappointed, neither by the film nor by Shammi Kapoor's role. It's a treat to watch the film.
The peak and prime of Rishi Kapoor as main lead, as well as peak of Shammi Kapoor's second innings, playing character roles now.
The song Tu Hai Wahi is really good, and it's picturisation.
Overall, the film is a must watch for fans of Rishi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, movie lovers, good-old era, and every movie lover.
Saajan Ki Baahon Mein (1995)
Enjoyable/Entertainin
I wasn't disappointed with the film at all. I like watching Rishi Kapoor movies, especially where he plays the romantic hero, the image he's popular for, just like SRK.
The scenic locations, RK's songs, the pairing of Rishi Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, the story, everything in the film was good and enjoyable. The film had no unnecessary scenes or side/subplots that is quite common in some of old movies.
One thing I didn't liked was the action sequence in the end, I was hoping for more of dialogue delivery by the characters or little bit of comedy like Govinda did it in his Dulhe Raja film.
But in the end, the film is a good watch, enjoyable.
Parinda Paar Geyaa (2023)
Superstar Gurnam Bhullar
Different concept. This film is different from the usual Panjabi films which are usually comedy films. This film has romantic angle, drama, turning dreams into reality no matter the rejections, tough times life throws at you.
Gurnam Bhullar is a fantastic actor. I loved his story, childhood flashbacks, falling in love, facing struggle, keeping his self-respect, heartbreaks. The emotional scenes of Gurnam Bhullar with his mom & JD are the best in the whole film.
The concept can be inspired by RK's rockstar film, so what, it's not a complete copy of it.
It's a different concept in PANJABI Industry, and it should be supported. Gurnam Bhullar is doing good experiments with films he has done like Lekh, Kokka, Surkhi Bindi, and now this.
Vich Bolunga Tere (2022)
Entertaining
This film is really a fun watch with the family. It has comedy, ghost, and little drama+romance ingredients adding to the overall entertainment.
Punjabi Cinema is really improving, be it different story concepts/content, vfx, keeping the family comedy legacy continued.
This film is perfect to watch with family, I guarantee you're going to have a fun time watching this.
I think Ravinder Grewal is an underated actor, but you should watch some of his recent films, including this one. He deserves more and more good roles and films like this one. He should also be in the list of A-Grade actor/entertainers like Gippy, Diljit, Amrinder Gill, Ammy Virk. He deserves it.
Annhi Dea Mazaak Ae (2023)
Entertainement Full On
Entertainement FUll On indeed. I watched this fun film yesterday with my family and had a blast watching it. Another PANJABI film with complete package, action, drama, romance, and comedy.
I loved the bond between Ammy and his sister in the film. The chemistry between Ammy and Nasir ji is a treat to watch. Their acting is on the spot.
Seeing Ammy portray a blind man with his eyes open reminded me of Dilip Kumar Saab's performance from his classic film Deedar, where he played a blind man too.
Any way, this film is a perfect choice if you guys want to have laughter and forget the real life struggles for sva2 hours.
Jag Jeondeyan De Mele (2009)
One more Harbhajan Mann Masterpiece
One more Harbhajan Mann Masterpiece indeed. Beautiful Beautiful story. There couldn't have been a better title for this film. One of Maan Saab's iconic and legendary song is also called Jag Jeondeyan De Mele, which came almost 2 decades before the film.
People make jokes on HM doing same thing in early films (going to canada or coming from Canada/America), the fact that HM and these films revived Punjabi industry and Punjabi Film industry is where it is today because HM and his films, and this fact in undeniable.
About the film, the film is really beautiful, lovers can never be separated, what is meant to be yours, WILL BE yours no matter what.
There is a dialogue in the movie, "eh Jag tan Jeondeyan De Mele ne yaara, dargah'in jaa ke kon milda.. eh kis ne vekhya?"
The film is a MUST MUST MUST watch.
Gadaar: The Traitor (2015)
First Thriller of Punjabi Cinema
Gadaar the Traitor is really great watch. Different concept, different genre (first time in Punjabi cinema), different avtar of Maan Saab. I've seen this film 4 times and will definitely watch it again.
Maan Saab really proved his versatility as an actor. The story is good too, showing the situation in Punjab after the 84 and how the corrupt law destroyed many families and youngster, and then the 2k10s, where a changed and now powerful Jai Singh (HM) returns to his motherland to face his nightmares and get his revenge.
I'd recommend everyone to watch this film. Although the story could've been a bit more intense (by the writer) but still overall is a great watch.
Naina (1973)
Charming Shashi Kapoor & Cute Moushumi
This film is one of my favorite film's of the Great Shashi Kapoor sahab. Mainly because he's in the film, his pairing with cute Moushumi chatterji, the story is good, etc.
Probably the only film in which we get to see two different hair styles of Shashi Kapoor (because it was shot at different times before the genre and story of the film changed later on).
Moushumi is really a talented actress and undoubtedly one of the most cutest ever in the Indian Cinema history. Same goes for the Great Shashi Kapoor, one of the most handsome ever.
Overall, the film is a good watch, enjoyable, clean family film. A Shashi Kapoor film.
Professor (1962)
Another Shammi Kapoor Entertainer.
Another Shammi Kapoor Entertainer. Indeed it is, just like his many other complete entertainers like Kashmir Ki Kali, Teesri Manzil, 3D, Junglee.
The film has a dramatic start but soon, within first 20-25 minutes, the mood changes from drama to comedy and then to romance.
I even had paused the film one day within 10 minutes because of its dramatic start, but few days later, I decided to watch it. And I was not disappointed at all when the film ended. It's a complete package - romance, drama, comedy, music, Shammi-Rafi duo, chemistry between the main leads.
It's sure a must-must-must watch film. I recommend.
Ram Aur Shyam (1967)
One more DILIP KUMAR CLASSIC
One more Dilip Kumar classic indeed. To be honest, when I watched the film for the first time, the first couple minutes were dramatic, to build up for the story. But I was glued to the tv and watched the film all the way. This film has got comedy scenes, drama scenes, action scenes, especially the one where Dilip Kumar retaliates by hitting Pran with a whip.
A special thing to note is the contrast in the character and personality of Ram and Shyam. Both portrayed by Dilip Kumar but still look at the differences in both. Ram is shy and scared of his brother in law, where on the other hand Shyam is brave and mischievous.
-- special note -- To see the Dilip Saab's level of unique acting is a scene where Shyam pretends to be Ram in front of Ram's brother in law (Pran) and tries to act like he's afraid of Pran, like the way Ram is painfully scared of, but still can't completely do it. Even though both Ram and Shyam are portrayed by Dilip Kumar. You get what I'm trying to say right.
This isn't the first time Dilip Kumar has done comedy, check his films like Azaad, Kohinoor, and even Babul, the earliest example of his career. The mirror scene in Kohinoor. The sweet-funny scenes between Dilip saab and Nargis and a scene between Dilip Kumar and TunTun in Babul.
This is probably the first and so far only film in my life that I watched twice again, after watching for the first time, in the same year.
Chhalle Mundiyan (2022)
Family Comedy Film
Chhalle Mundiyaan is a fun and pure family entertainer comedy film. I recently watched it with my family and with my relatives, and we couldn't stop laughing. The film had some nice punches. B. N Sharma's acting is marvelous and funny as always. He is one of the masters at doing comic roles. Ammy and Kulwinder and Banny's chemistry and scenes were really good and fun to watch.
I've noticed that now even Punjabi films mentions bollywood legends at least in one scene in almost every second Punjabi film. Most of the time it will be SRK mentioned in the film, but this time Bollywood's 1st Superstar was mentioned in one scene. Rajesh Khanna. There's a scene in the film where Banny uses a dialogue of Rajesh Khanna Saab to cheer Ammy Virk up and he even does the hands waving pose.
Anyway, overall this film is perfect to watch with your family and have a great time laughing on the comic punches and scenes and enjoying the fun film.
Guddiyan Patole (2019)
Fun Family Film
I thought this film is going to be an average film with drama. But I loved this film a lot when I watched it for the first time. It had drama, comedy, romantic songs, exploring Punjab, family values, everything. I can watch this film again and again and still not get bored. I felt the emotions in the emotional scenes of the family. I laughed on the cute-funny scenes.
A family-entertainer, a great debut for fab singer Gurnam Bhullar. Nirmal Rishi's role is awesome as always. Sonam Bajwa in a different roles than her other films like Nikka Zaildar & Carry On Jatta 2, etc. Tania suited her role as a sweet and friendly sibling out of the two.
Overall, this film is one of the best Fun Family Entertainer Punjabi film and must be watched.
Lahoriye (2017)
ANOTHER AMRINDER GILL & PUNJABI MASTERPIECE
Lahoriye, another Masterpiece for Panjabi Industry. I've seen this film for about 5-7 times and never get bored of it. This film is a Timeless Classic.
It's a beautiful beautiful tale of love that sees no geographic boundaries.
Amrinder Gill, in his prime, a fun and loveable character. Guggu Gill, as always, adds 4chann in the film.
3rd back to back blockbuster film in a row of Amrinder Gill after Angrej and Love Panjab. He can be called a mixture of Govinda+SRK+Aamir for being so good with his comic-timing, romance king, and perfectionist in his art.
This film sure is a must-must-must watch with entire family, again and again.
This film will win your HEART, guraranteed.
Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965)
CLASSIC, MASTERPIECE, ICONIC Shashi Kapoor
When I watched this film, I instantly took to my social media handle to share my review about this film. I posted a photo of this film's poster and wrote that this film is pure classic, one of the best performances by the legend Shashi Kapoor.
That's right, it is a classic film. It was also remade as Raja Hindustani. But for me, this film gave more of a DDLJ type vibe.
Songs are great, kashmir looks so beautiful, Shashi ji's innocent and joyful character is a treat and his looks are as always great.
Talking about Kashmir, there are some other classic films of the 60s that were made in beautiful kashmir such as Kashmir Ki Kali, Aarzoo.
PR (2022)
Wow 😯😍. Awesome film
Another great film that shown the reality of Punjab's youth. The youth of Punjabi going abroad for better opportunities and life. This film shows the struggles and challenges the youngsters face in order to get P. R.
Awesome film. Proud of you Maan Saab.
