Willy's Wonderland (2021)
They should rename this movie "The Cleaning Man".
Honestly, all Nicholas Cage did was clean the place for half the movie. Then he'd drink Punch, punch some metal animatronics, play some pinball while...dancing...and other than that, what more was there? I actually have no memory of this movies plot or story, but all I DO remember is exactly that: Nicholas Cage cleans the place, drinks his precious Punch, then PUNCHes some metal animatronics (which ruins everything he cleaned) and then plays some pinball sometimes for some reason. Which (to me) sounds like a more interesting movie than the one I watched. I didn't even remember this movie's title and had been calling it "The Cleaning Man" until now. And actually, I'm fine with it. Yeah, I'd give it a 1/10 for SURE, but it made me laugh pretty hard at some points.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Whose Show Is This? (2022)
I'm not sure what to say.
This episode was creative, I'll give it that. I started the way I thought it would go, and eventually winded up confusing me: but then we had the whole "breaking out of the simulation" thing. While it was okay to do that, as this whole series had been building up to this whole "someone's behind the camera" moment, it felt...wrong. I'm a big sucker for movies and tv shows that do this type of thing, like Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. But, they pulled it off better in the other films. Where DHMIS used its "breaking out" to further the story and make it fit within the series, becoming a drastic change in formula AND a point to help the plot progress, She-Hulk felt...lost. It wanted K. E. V. I. N. To be this cool reveal, but it felt off. Because now we know that the MCU isn't REALLY what we've been watching, but instead what we've been living. A universe where we, the viewer, are watching movies created by Marvel Studios. This whole reveal kind of throws away the plot, though. I can't really enjoy the other movies now because I'm now constantly reminded that none of it is real WITHIN its own universe. Where this made sense for DHMIS, a show designed to give you that feeling, it doesn't make sense for She-Hulk. Not to mention that the whole idea of making a big dramatic reveal in SHE-HULK, of all shows, is really weird. The show's feeling was meant to be comedic, but straight comedy, with no room to breathe, because there wasn't anything else. It was just crappy jokes upon jokes upon jokes. But now that the show has decided to turn its theme onto itself and be this dramatic, MCU-changing moment feels very out of place. This reveal could've been pulled off better, and most likely by doing it in something like What If...?, or Avengers 5. Not She-Hulk.
I guess my point is, I like the idea of this episode, and I'll give it credit for being slightly entertaining, but its reveal put me at unease.
Microwave Society (2020)
Beautiful
I think it's time I finally review this mastery of a YouTube channel. The comedy is amazing, even if it is modern internet humor, it's still done right. I thought this show was so amazing I ADDED it, and now because of the Minions: Rise of Gru episode, now my handiwork is...recognized? I added every episode (except the Rise of Gru one), wrote every description, and added every cast member because this show changed my life from the hard place I was in. I'm giving my props to these three for beaming their infectious laughter and comedy onto all of us at a time where the world isn't in great shape (better than a square though). This show is amazing and deserves all the recognition it can get.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Note Block Battle (2020)
Bro...
What the? That was amazing! More amazing things from AaronGrooves, congrats man. This music was so cool, especially the electric guitar scene. This episode still has the Redstone Academy flaw, not really being necessary because of the first season, but still amazing nonetheless.
9.4/10, for the beautiful music.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Redstone Academy (2020)
Hm.
This is my least favourite episode of the series. It (to me) was still really cool, seeing all the redstone stuff, but still, we're going back to the season 1 phase where we're experimenting. The problem this time; they don't really need to be experimenting. Yellow already knows redstone, and that appears to be enough to protect him. They all have different personalities, and that's Yellow's. But the problem with this is that if the others learn about redstone, why don't they ever use it?
7.5/10, for cool things, but quite unnecessary.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Cave Spider Roller Coaster (2019)
Man, that was cool!
The whole fight scene on the roller coaster was super cool, and it looked so amazing to watch. The animation in this episode was epic, but the only problem; it's on YouTube Kids, of all places. I mean, that's not taking anything away from the episode, but why, YouTube, why disable people from commenting how epic this episode was?
9.5/10, for the amazing fight scenes and animation.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: The Dolphin Kingdom (2019)
Hmmm...
Still a mediocre episode. Nothing really happens in it, and there are some problems like Red being able to just spawn everything ever within the span of like 10 seconds, but still okay.
7.7/10, just mediocre.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: The Killer Bunny (2019)
Better than the last one.
I actually enjoy this episode, the animation has improved a lot. Looks good, but we still haven't reached the peak of the show.
8.4/10, for being the episode it was but incomparable to some later episodes.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: SkyBlock (2019)
Just the teensiest bit overrated...
I'm not saying this is a bad episode, I'm just saying it wasn't my favourite. I still think The End was better, but this one was also good.
8/10, for just being mediocre in the standards of this show.
Hell's Kitchen: Day 5 (2006)
WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE!
This is the most iconic thing Gordon Ramsay has done. You'll never find the lamb sauce Gordon. You'll never find it. This episode will forever stay in history. If this is the only proof that humans existed in the future, it'll be perfect.
The Backrooms: The Backrooms (Found Footage) (2022)
An iconic episode for centuries to come.
I think this will probably be engraved in textbooks for next generations to learn about. THAT'S how iconic this episode is. This whole 9 minute video is way too amazing for just one 16 year old to have animated. So amazing to look at. Looks beautiful. Captures that style of old cameras perfectly. Amazing.
9.5/10.
Foundation (2021)
Unfaithful to its Source Material
I really don't understand who decided to make this a TV Show. Foundation takes place over a long time and nowadays wouldn't be considered 'exciting' enough for modern TV. But if they were to do so, at least be a tiny bit like the book. But no, they couldn't even do THAT. Honestly I don't understand the need for an action packed version of Foundation, a book that doesn't require action.
Portal: The Underground: Ego Core (2012)
EGO CORE!!!
This episode was the introduction to The Ego Core! I love how unique the idea of The Ego Core is and his relationship with The Interview Core. The episode was well written and really well acted.
Portal: The Underground: Ambition Core (2011)
Much Better
The ending of this episode was amazing. We finally got to see what the purpose of these cores are and what happens to the rejects (The Paranoia Core). There is more mystery behind this and this episode sets it up so well.
Portal: The Underground: Elite Core (2011)
The Worst Episode
This episode sort of lacked. The humour of The Interview Core is funny, but it lacks showing us more about Elite Core and everything else. The ongoing joke is good but there is nothing else to it.
Portal: The Underground: Protocol Core (2011)
Better.
This episode was much better due to the ending and the setup for future episodes. I can't wait to see both The Mainframe and the Protocol Core (Robot Seventeen) in Episode 11!
Portal: The Underground: Paranoia Core (2011)
Not bad.
This episode wasn't bad, just developing. It takes a bit to get used to but is a funny idea and a cool episode. I like how it sets up the Paranoia Core's character for coming episodes, and that everything is new for Portal 2 fans.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: The End (2018)
Not Actually The End
This episode was really cool. I liked how it really felt like the end, having the Ender Dragon and its son, but also feeling like setup for season 2 (which is technically episodes 11-14).
9.5/10, for being a cool 'finale' and having amazing setup.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Villagers (2018)
King Purple!
This episode wasn't as good as the last, but was really intriguing, setting up The End. The idea of the mysterious Purple stick figure was really cool, but not necessarily explained. Alan might reveal this in Episode #3.10 (2022) but maybe not.
8/10, for a great setup but not explaining Purple.
Edit: Yes! They explained Purple in Note Block Universe.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: The Nether (2018)
Introduction to the Nether!
It's really cool to see the Nether finally introduced to this story and to see just an episode about Blue and Green. The Purple reveal at the end was cool and leaves you waiting for what's next.
8.8/10, for a nice introduction to the Nether and a cool reveal at the end.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: PvP (2018)
Not as great as the last episodes...
This was not as amazing as the last, but was still really good. The fighting animations were really cool and the stick figures using actual Minecraft assets to fight looked really good. I would say my only criticism is that the stick figures would never really attack one another aside from in the case of Animation vs. Minecraft (2015).
8.5/10 for great fighting animation but lacking in the personality they should have.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Command Blocks (2018)
Such a cool episode!
This episode introduces Command Blocks. The way they're used in this is amazing. I love the way the overall design looked, the scene when everything started to break was so weird and amazing to look at. Everything about this was cool.
9.5/10, for its creative design and really funny and cool idea.
Animator vs. Animation V (2020)
The best thing ever created.
Honestly beautiful. The way the series was ended was perfect. Could not be better. The Second Coming using his true power from the Chosen One was amazing, and I watched it probably infinite times after. Just trying to comprehend this is impossible, as it was perfection itself.
Infinite/10, perfection itself.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Note Blocks (2018)
Finally, some music to jam to.
Oh my god, I love the soundtrack to this episode. It's such a creative way to introduce note blocks and also to be the first episode of this show to have music. Well done AaronGrooves.
9.2/10, for its consistent music and an amazing soundtrack.
Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts: Potions (2018)
Getting intense...
This episode is probably the best yet, with the most action and probably the best animation. The idea that giving Reuben (as named in the subtitles) the potions that turn him into an unstoppable force is really cool, and something I don't expect from the FOURTH episode of the series. Well done.
9/10, for amazing action sequences and a generally cool idea.
