Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: 911 (2005)
Simply brilliant!
I agree that this is the best Special Victims Unit episode yet. I've been a fan of SVU ever since I first discovered it about a year ago and although I love both the original Law and Order and Criminal Intent, I believe that SVU is the best of all. The acting is always great and the stories - though tough going at times - are never less than absorbing. I don't say this lightly but this particular episode really had me on the edge of my seat until the astonishing ending, it's fantastic television. To think that this episode is in season 7 is amazing, the show just seems to get better and better. Full marks - 10/10 - to the cast and crew and please let's have the DVD box sets released a bit faster!
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Have we been to the same film?
I just cannot understand some of the comments I've read here, I must have seen a different film. Most bizarre of all has to be the chap who complains bitterly about the lack of an ending to this film; where have you been?! There has been no misleading of anyone, this is the FIRST PART of a trilogy for goodness sake!! I don't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment of the next film, The Two Towers, but I don't think that will have a definite ending either (shock, horror!). This film is magnificent, one of the best I've ever seen. The fact that it doesn't always fit exactly with my imaginings or those of anyone else is irrelevant, we're all of us different and this is the interpretation of one man, Peter Jackson. I don't think it will be a million miles away from most people's interpretation anyway. 10 out of 10 for Mr Jackson, and roll on the next in the series.
