Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL
Welcome to the rebel moon universe, a carelessly crafted world of patch work, hand stitched together(barely) by none other than the "Great" Zach Snyder himself. This movie is heavily influenced by much better media, and yet somehow fails to capture even a modicum of it's influencers brilliance. The main character is dull and uninteresting to watch (not the actress' fault). The side characters just seem to appear as the plot demands, no real reason for why we need them other than to make the film feel seven samurai esque. The dialogue...oh my God the dialogue, who the heck talks like that? Nobody.
Now Zach is known for his amazing action scenes, but they were no where to be found here, the frequent use of slow motion, plus the unnecessary need for cool shots really turned this movie's action scenes on it's head, matter of fact i got so bored with some of it that i had to skip, skip again, then hyper skip. (Thank God for that netflix skip button).
There is also a twist in this movie that even a child could see coming, it's a wonder how a trained soldier and her lackeys couldn't see it too. All in all, this movie is dreadful and Zach should not be allowed to write his scripts alone or maybe even at all. 3/10.
Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm (2022)
AQUA BORE
The Good.
1)Animation quality of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie was as i'd expect from an adult swim ip, so i will not be judging this movie on that fact because the animation is what it has always been, but on a higher budget.
2)Voice acting was as good as i remembered, Shake, Meatwad, Frylock and Carl, all sound as good as ever. Folks that's about it for the good and now...
THE BAD
One of the most boring, disjointed animated movies i've ever watched. I actually watched this movie through 3 days because every scene exhausted me. The plot was thin to none existent, the dialogue was banal and unfunny, and that constant meta interruption on my screen was cringeeeee. Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm is a dreadful chore of a movie and i wholeheartedly do not recommend.
Resident Evil (2022)
This is Review bombing at it's finest
This series isn't perfect, it's not even great, but it is definitely good. Maybe a diehard resident evil fan would hate this series, but i myself am neutral once it comes to the biohazard universe. This series tells a different story from the games and cgi movies. It follows different characters and different struggles. I knew that there would be backlash from fans, but the reviews here are just insane. The first episode of the series introduces us to our 3 major characters, and while it has a rocky start with one particular character being annoying and having idiotic dialogue, it soon becomes apparent that said character is deliberately being irritating to get a reaction out of her father. After the first episode settled in i was in for a ride. I honestly didn't want to watch this because of the reviews and because netflix has a history of butchering beloved IP's, but man this series was good, i dare say the story telling is at least more coherent and less ridiculous than the games and actually expands/explains the resident evil universe more. Give it a chance, at least stick with it for 3 episodes.
