L.A. Noire (2011)
The Perfect Crime
The best video game of it's genre by far.
If you love crime scene investigation and puzzle solving, you will absolutely adore L. A. Noire.
The some of stories told are based on true serial killers. Storylines and characters based on real people are altered from the truth. But made believable through the game's amazing face capture mechanics, which back in 2011 were incredibly game changing, and definitely was before it's time.
The question where is number 2, Rockstar?
Mob City (2013)
What if?
I personally love this criminal series, gangster inspired film and series are my bread and butter.
I honestly believe it got cut way too soon; It didn't end up being popular in America (Air-Time), so they scrapped it. Leaving me to ask why, what, how and when.
Some great acting talents filled the cast. It's just a shame we may never know what could have been.
Joker (2019)
The Method to the Madness
Joaquin Phoenix completely engulfed himself in the lore of the Joker, creating one hell of an origin story.
In recent years, DC have absolutely destroyed the comic storytelling compared to their rivals on the big screen, the dark and mysterious tales of their characters especially from a realistic standpoint, really makes you appreciate the films and not because it's a superhero movie.
This is cinema.
Moonfall (2022)
Is the end of the world meant to be funny?
I wasn't too sure what to make of this film, I found myself laughing at all the dad jokes whilst being completely oblivious to the fact the world around them was literally falling the apart, I felt like the direction of the film itself was flirting between to many genres to make sense in the end.
The film itself is entertaining enough to recommend, but I personally wasn't sold on the idea from the get go.
The Batman (2022)
A nod to comic book fans
Matt Reeves truly captures the grime and grittiness of Gotham City. Not only setting the atmospheric level high throughout, Matt also kept the realism from start to finish, from the wing suit to the Batmobile itself, continuing to never stray away from the films purpose, which ultimately delivers a product that all comic book fans can rejoice upon. Every Actor and Actress from the film held their own and gave us something fresh from their roles, the stand out for me was Batman himself, Pattinson is the real deal, I am somewhat sick of seeing people bash him for roles he had previously took upon himself, his later stuff can easily justify any doubts any naysayers might have. I suggest watching this and go through Pattinson's portfolio before rating this.
