Slumberland (2022)
Why was this movie good?
A beautiful and wholesome surprise.
When I came across it on netflix, I expected it to be a typical filler movie, made with the expectation that people would only see it because Jeison Momoa appeared, but I was pleasantly surprised, I didn't expect to develop feelings for these characters, from the beginning of the movie the relationship between father and daughter starts to warm your heart enough to let go of your expectations and start to enjoy the movie, then when the plot starts to develop you would already be curious enough about the story to keep watching and enjoying the movie. Truly a nice movie made to watch with family.
Andor (2022)
The series that put the "War" in Star Wars.
The best star wars project. Ever.
It's literally the star wars that all of us adults who grew up with the original trilogy needed, no lousy jokes, ruined original characters or cartoonish effects.
Next to The Mandalorian, this is one of the best star wars in a long time, it's pure genius, from now on, I won't look forward to the franchise's movies, but for the series. Honestly, much better than any movie in the saga.
I never thought that star wars would become one of my favorite franchises, but since I've been watching this series I've become a fan of this universe, from now on I'll see all star wars projects, ESPECIALLY those that are related in some way to Andor. Wow.
Star wars not only needed something like Andor, from my point of view, and that of many others, star wars began to be a saga since this series.
Coco (2017)
New pixar classic
Coco is a vibrant, exciting movie, which despite being made predominantly for the youth, explores the themes of death, or more accurately - life after death, whilst bringing to light non-westernised cultures. Coco is an absolute must-see for the entire family.
Incredible music, excellent animation and easy to love characters, a new pixar classic.
Ya no estoy aquí (2019)
A breath of fresh air
The performances are sublime, with long moments filmed in a single shot, a window to reality, although the plot is slow at times the interest of the story is NEVER lost and it is impossible to look away. One of the most interesting movies that came out of Mexico, and although the film took a more grim tone towards life, it is definitely a breath of fresh air.
No Sleep 'Til Christmas (2018)
The movie that ruined Christmas
They somehow don't realize they've made the main character the villain. She breaks her fiance's heart even though he's been nothin but pleasant the whole time. How are we supposed to root for her?
Horrible, honestly horrible. I can not enjoy a movie, in which I hate both main characters... horrible.
And yet, even if I didn't hate both characters, the cinematography is lousy, lazy, and a cheap attempt at a Christmas movie.
