The Transporter (2022)
Ridiculous
Ridiculous! That was all I was going to write, but apparently one word review is not enough. Once again, Hollywood finds a way to totally ruin a series by worrying more about trying to be SJWs than quality entertainment. The Transporter is one of my favorite movie series. The TV series a few years back was also very good (I recommend that one). I was surprised they canceled it.
Now we have this, shaking my head.
Interceptor (2022)
More woke madness
What the top review said. I'm happy I didn't pay to watch this one. A friend paid. We left. It's just ridiculous. If you go all the way back to Rambo, that was also in many ways a ridiculous movie, but what made it fascinating was it was a relatively new style of movie, a somewhat fresh story, and Rambo was the ultimate alpha.
Trying to make a female alpha male just does not work. I find myself laughing at the characters. Like in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. That black female character just doesn't work. There are many good roles for women unless you define a good female role as one where she has to try to be an alpha male.
Anyway, just my opinion.
Signora Volpe (2022)
Love it
I'm loving this series mostly because it gives me a little piece of my heritage. My parents moved to the US in the mid 1960s when I was a baby and we were poor, which meant we never returned to Italy.
In the US, finding TV shows (or movies) that feature Italians in a positive light (NOT mobsters) or Italian culture (there's more than just pasta and pizza) is becoming increasingly difficult. Shows tend to now have Hispanic themes and characters and now even Indian. Italians are now blended into "white" if there is an Italian character.
So this show gives me a glimpse of Italy and my culture. I appreciate that very much.
Merlin (2008)
Enjoyed it, but horrible ending and Guinevere is miscast
It's a good fun show that ended way too soon and the ending is flabbergasting to me. There was so much more that could be explored, even if they had to recast the actors at an older age. King Author was one of my favorite tales growing up, and it seems few directors and producers are able to turn something that should be such a great story into a franchise.. A King Arthur series could have the same intrigue and following as Game of Thrones if done right.
This one is a at times comedic and that's fine, but it's also series, which are the episodes I most enjoyed. For the life of me, I don't understand how TV series like Camelot failed or how they apparently can't come up with storylines.
In the end, this series had me frustrated because of the ending and the series ended too soon. Merlin was supposed to help Arthur become king and establish a golden age. That never happened. I really hope that Netflix or a company with deep pockets will create a spinoff and do the King Arthur story justice. It's a fantastic tale and as I already wrote, I cannot understand how they manage to screw it up every time.
Oh, and the girl who played Guinevere is miscast. It's absolutely fine that she is black, but a prettier actress should have been chosen. I just can't imagine a future king falling head of over heals in love with an average looking girl when he has all of Camelot to choose from.
