Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers (2022)
It's About Family
Dr. Jerry Buss made a business decision that would affect the relationship of his children and an NBA franchise's winning tradition. "Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers" takes you into a family dealing with business and sports in the land of glitz and bright lights of Hollywood.
This documentary takes you to the rise of the LA Lakers in the 1980s Showtime with Magic Johnson's greatest finals performance as a rookie to epic showdowns with the Sixers, Celtics and Pistons.
The 1990s saw Johnson's exit to the revamped "Lake Show" Lakers led by Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones and the acquisition of Shaquille O Neal and Kobe Bryant.
A major shift in the Lakers organization happened in the next decade when Phil Jackson was signed (twice) as head coach giving the Lakers 5 titles out of 7 finals appearances.
The succeeding decade/s carried more controversies and drama surrounding the Buss family members and the Lakers organization including the loss of very significant figures up to the global pandemic.
There are details of the story that deserve more in-depth coverage. It would've been better if there were two more episodes inserted just to cover the super team of O'Neal, Bryant, Gary Payton and Karl Malone. Also, the formation of another super team of Bryant, Pau Gasol with Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.
Nevetheless, this documentary is a superb sports story. Definitely bigger than "The Last Dance" because of the impact of the Lakers in the NBA and the sport of basketball spanning six decades. And behind that six decades is a family running it.

Folks, Travel Can Kill You
Heroin addict. Alcoholic. Writer. Traveler. Wandering romantic. Wildly intellectual. The only thing we didn't see was a troubled mind. You don't travel 250 days in a year and think it will be a tonic to your soul.
Who You Gonna Call? (2020)
A True Musician
A product of Detroit who lived through racism and police brutality. Developed his talent because of an unexpected incident. Extremely confident of his craft. RPJ had an indelible effect on the music industry as a session guitarist which not everyone knew. This documentary lays out the story as told by RPJ himself.

What if Ted Lasso was A Broken, Divorced Woman
Good job, Apple. This is a bland, superficial series that couldn't reel me in. Each episode was a feeble attempt to draw out joy from a viewer. A lead character so messed up I came close to not watching the 3rd episode.
They Call Me Magic (2022)
Could've Been Better
4 episodes are not enough to document the 13 years of Magic Johnson's career, inside and outside the court. His rivalry with the Celtics and Pistons in the 80's should've been detailed extensively. The 90's also had significant events which also needed greater detail.
