Red Notice (2021)
Cool
The main advantage of this picture, I think the authors' reference to the good old adventure films. It's not just about the structure or moving around the cities and villages of the earth. We are given a beautiful legend at the beginning, a simple division of characters, a twist in the course of the play and positive humor in the course of the play. The focus of humor is Reynolds and the rock. I don't know if the authors are aware of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer, but there is a feeling that this duet was the reference. Of course, the guys have not yet succeeded in repeating his success, but with all my dislike for Johnson, I admit that the joker/jock conflict turned out to be very good. Separately, I note the chic banter over Indiana Jones himself - subtly and sweetly. Well, the theme of Russia was shown without cranberries and with instagram it was very funny.
Peacemaker (2022)
Will go
After three episodes of The Peacemaker, we can say that this project for HBO is the quintessence of all Gunn's work. Here you have slugs under the guise of alien people, and super with his mockery of superheroics (remember only one karate guard of the politician's family in a green tights). But one thing is for sure, the first episode was a very good intro with a perky prelude of getting out of prison and meeting t 1000 as a racist father to meeting the confused butterfly and the subsequent not-so-bad action-violence that pumps out as it should , an 18+ rated serialus is a nice mash-up of a bunch of body parts and meat. But then we will have a very strange plot with a very slow and indistinct script, I'm not just talking about the next Gunn jokes on the topic of genitals, which the whole series is full of, but rather Gunn's unsuccessful attempts to play on both sides. If in the same guards he managed to win back on the good self-irony of the universe and his heroes, while combining furious action, then in the Peacemaker he wins back to the fullest, and how in his squad all this goes sideways. The characters are not exactly rude, they are rather dumb in nature, but this is not even brought to the point of absurdity, but rather Gann squeezed out of it more unique.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Newt (2017)
not really
More precisely, his facelessness. The film has 2 completely unrelated storylines. In one, a magician who fled to America tries not to sleep with a suitcase of monsters. This is not a spoiler, it was in the trailer! In another, Colin Farrell's character tries to run the local Ministry of Magic without the orderlies noticing. One runs with living creatures, the second is not clear with what (of course, everything is explained to us very attractively), but this is definitely not living creatures. It's like if Jessica Jones and Daredevil were combined into one series and in parallel would develop their stories with complete indifference to each other.
Conflict. He is not. Generally. As if there are heroes, Secondary heroes too, they are well represented, we are imbued with them. That's just the lack of intersections turns the whole movie into one big trolley during rush hour, where no one cares about everyone. The conflict was pulled towards the end of the film to somehow explain why the previous 1 hour and 45 minutes were.
