Get Out (2017)
Bad
Istg I have never found a single good horror movie in my life. It is halloween. I wanted something paranormal or gruesome, and I ended up watching this. I regret it. There is nothing scary about this movie. I did not once feel scared. The ending was rushed and VERY predictable. I could immediately tell the main character stuffed quilt in his ears or maybe I'm just smart, and the guy's TSA friend seriously just popped up at the house with no explanation whatsoever. The directors really did not want to use their 2 braincells to make up a reason. And the fact that they left the murder scene a job for the TSA guy, listen here, a SINGLE guy to cover for a goddamn FAMILY'S MASS MURDER to just, get washed off without any problems??? Is this a joke? What the HELL is this movie? This is the most unrealistic movie I've ever seen, I'm sorry. The hypnotized men wake up from their trance by a goddamn FLASH OF LIGHT? Who the HELL gave this movie a 7.6? It's a 3.6!
DO NOT WATCH THIS UNLESS YOU'RE LIKE 12 AND CAN GET SCARED BY COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG SHOW (it's a good show, but only scary to kids. I love courage)
Jailer (2023)
Worst movie ever
I had the misfortune of watching this movie with my father. I sat down, rather reluctantly since I've never once in my life enjoyed a tollywood movies and thank you jailer, for adding to my bias. This movie was so goddamn unrealistic, by the time it was halfway through I had ripped my eyes out. First of all, WTF is going on. Did this man just MURDER infiltrating men in front of his WIFE AND DAUGHTER IN LAW to give them a message about what is going on? WHAT THE HELL is this. What did they do to deserve to be traumatized for the rest of their lives? I am FURIOUS about how LITTLE research the directors did for this movie. SERIOUSLY, so the doctor just diagnosed this man with a disease, forced the family to stay and THEY STAYED AND COMPLIED to EVERY stupid ass lie the doctor said? And the part where they found the men smuggling deities by holding out a prop until someone said that they dropped it?? 😭😭😭 SOBBING WHAT IS THIS?? The fact that Verma literally did not kidnap Jailer's family but played along with him, when he could've just threatened him with his family to which he'd be obliged to give back the deities? :D Also did I miss out in addressing how the driver was convinced to an IDIOTIC lie telling him how Jailer would frame him in the most stupid way, saying he'd just say the driver asked him to murder like WHAT 😭😭 WHO MADE THIS MOVIE WITHOUT RESEARCHING AT ALL?? I can make a list of critique for EVERY 5 MINUTE that passes in the movie. Whoever made this movie was smoking wall cracks or sumt, because this, this is the type of story a 16 year old with NO KNOWLEDGE about what the hell actually goes on in the world would make after watching Breaking Bad's last season directly.
Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
Comfort movie
Now, I'm a pansexual myself. Getting to watch LGBTQ+ genre movies is a certain bliss, I'd say. After just finishing the movie, I'll be extremely blunt and forthcoming with my overall review, a 8/10 for this movie, felt like a story written by a 15 year old on wattpad about two gay couples who have an angsty relationship. Now the main reason I'd give this an 8 is because the cast and acting was good, I cried when they were dancing in the museum at night and overall, it's re-watchable. I'd certainly see myself watching this movie every three years or so, I'm not much of a movie re-watcher myself. But coming back onto the point that this movie felt like a meagre BL k drama. It was just, TOO predictable. I predicted right away that Henry and Alex's relationship would be leaked by some rival. I also predicted an angsty moment where Henry would put forth his royal duties before his own choices, and oh god he stepped over that goddamn line quicker than a drop of water evaporating off of a hot pan. Everything was, very, very quick for me. I love a little bit of slow burn, I do, and I'm simply applying my preferences onto this movie as well. Everything felt too quick and predictable. (Also that cake scene, man it really did feel like a teenager wrote that scene) This is mainly the reason why I wasn't very intrigued by the plot, but overall, it's a wholesome, adorable movie on two gay little boys in love who are also in charge of their own lives. I just happen to have a love - neutral relationship to this movie, not really hate it though.
Il racconto dei racconti - Tale of Tales (2015)
Gets you on the edge of your chair
Just the right amount of suspense, makes my heart gush. The music is also really well adds up to the story. It has a very bittersweet aroma to it, that I do love.
Storyline overall is very interesting. Starting with the tale that of a prince and his "twin", the tree that spills the life of that "twin" now distant. How they are connected to each other. One of the first moments of the film where I could say I was glad that I was watching it. It's got this demeanor of that of fairy tails but this one is for an adult audience and I really enjoyed it. The prince's mother's beastly form, how she died because of her harsh desires. Another point I was flabbergasted at. So beautifully plotted.
Princess Violet, she's so brave and beautiful. I'm very shocked at how the story changed paths, how her rescue turned into a massacre. Though, she did come out victorious. Seeing her drenched in blood made me realise she was the most fierce character throughout the whole movie. She deserved the best, even though her father's idiocy did cause her to delay her prosperity.
And finally, the sisters. What an enduring perspective of a greedy, wretched old lady and the sister of her whose quite the opposite, so soft and foolish. The story taking edgy turns throughout, even by the end it was indeed a twisty plot. And I do adorn the ending.
This was like a perplexing witch tale, a fairy tale told by that of a monster. It kept me rooting for more. It was indeed, and I am so happy, a pleasure to have watched it. I am so glad I did.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
Was expecting better
Story ended before I knew! It ended abruptly, absolutely in the middle when things were finally getting better. I really wish they'd cut down on useless scenes and add a good, substantial ending kind of like part 1. I was also expecting more of Pavitr and Punk, also there was literally no Noire which made me sad. I honestly feel sad after watching the movie, I was waiting for it to end by the time intermission ended. I watched it in 4d and I honestly don't know what to say, it was meh. I'm hoping for part 3 to be better and make up for it. Feel like my money is somewhat wasted, but the animation was great. Story was stirring up well, but again same point, they ended it too abruptly.
Mom (2017)
extremely great
The never ending thriller residing throughout the movie, the suspense. It's so well put together, I'd definitely recommend anyone who likes drama and suspense this movie.
The ending was satisfying. I loved this movie very much.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)
a banger, it was!
I'm in love with this movie! Definitely one of my favourite horror movies. The mix of horror and psychology and the tinge of hindu sacred exorcism. It is so well presented, and so has been the climax and plots of this masterpiece. The actors did a great job and every song felt nostalgic.
I haven't had a better experience in years, i loved every bit of this movie.
