Gotham Knights: Pilot (2023)
Impressive!
Going in, I wasn't sure what to expect, as I'm not that familiar with the world of Batman outside of the major movies. That being said, I truly enjoyed this first episode of Gotham Knights! The young cast is amazing and I'm already intrigued by each character and how they will play a part in the story. I love that the show captures the dark, moody, cinematic Gotham feel. It seems much bigger than a tv show if I'm honest. I'm very excited for more of the show and more Harvey Dent! Misha Collins is an emotional powerhouse of an actor and it will be wonder watching him transform from the caring, sympathetic Harvey Dent, into the demented, vengeance seeking TwoFace.
The Winchesters (2022)
Impressed
I must admit, I had my doubts when I heard this prequel was coming. Jensen Ackles swooped in with comforting reassurances and asked for trust and time and I gladly gave both. I'm telling you, it paid off! He is the ultimate SPN fan and cares deeply about the story being told, as do the other crew and cast. It's evident with the amount of little nods to the mothership, in only the first episode, that they know the source material and are paying homage to it. Of course, it wasn't perfect, but it was damn impressive, especially for a pilot episode! I'm excited to see where this road takes us as a Supernatural family, because I only expect it to get better from here! It's nostalgic without being predictable and the up and coming cast is a treat! So far they've handled these roles like they were made for them and I love it! These young actors really should be commended for stepping into such a well loved and well worn universe like Supernatural. It's definitely not the easiest fandom to traverse, but it's a rewarding one if they stick with it. I'm ready for more! I'm ready for all the twists and turns they can throw our way!
Roadfood (2021)
A beautiful journey...
Each episode of RoadFood leaves me with so many thoughts and feelings. Misha Collins has a curiosity and respect for humanity that is inspirational. We're all so incredibly diverse, but we're all just trying to make it and it is a profound thing to remember that deep down, we aren't so different after all. This show does a great job at highlighting our diversities while showcasing the one thing that universally brings us together...food.
