Barry: wow (2023)
Oh, Wow.
The perfect send off to a wonderful show.
The show truly came full circle.
I love how Fughes had big character development in the way that he protected John (Barry's son) and you can clearly tell he wanted to let Barry know they will always be good in the end, even though things won't be the same again of course. Hanks ending couldn't have been more fitting, he died quite literally in the hands of Cristobal and it was a very meaningful send off for him.
And of course, the big moment. Shows don't really do this often. It's quite interesting and ironic how the second Barry tries to actually do the right thing, he is killed off for it by none other than Gene! The perfect way to send off both characters in my opinion.
Sally clearly isn't happy, but she's still alive and I think there a fitting ending considering her involvements in the bad stuff going on in the show. Not good, not bad, just living a normal life and is clearly sad.
The movie they made at the end was a cool touch too, it showed the perspectives of everyone's perception of the storyline in the show in a very native and natural way. The perfect way to wrap up the whole story from start to finish considering this was also a show that heavily focused on acting/film.
Overall, 10/10! Fantastic all round, I don't think I'll see quite this good of an ending to a show in a very very long time.
Better Call Saul: Hit and Run (2022)
FUN AND INTENSE
What an episode! The vibe I got from this episode was so awesome. The world's are slowly becoming one, and we are learning new things about the characters who we've known forever now. It was funny, it was intense, it was a rollercoaster of emotions and I enjoyed every second. Wonderful directional debut for Rhea Seahorn, and a fantastic watch all around!
