Checkin' It Twice (2023)
LOVE KIM MATULA
I loved Kim Matula in the Hallmark movie, Ghosts of Christmas always. She is witty and funny in both of these Hallmark Christmas movies--really love her. This movie was very enjoyable with both characters at a turning point in their careers. They have a meet cute at the airport with their credit cards being switched and get acquainted while getting their cards back from the merchants. The hockey scenes are funny with very enthusiastic small town fans. Kevin McGarry is convincing as a hockey player and coach to local kids. Kevin and Kim have a nice chemistry and the family who welcomes Kevin's character is adorable.
A Holiday Spectacular (2022)
Lovely cast and story
Not quite sure the mean reviewers need to go on and on about historical correctness. Sometimes we can just watch a sweet story and enjoy it while wishing that maybe history could have been more like this. The actors and story were all very nice. I've never seen the Rockettes, but I did enjoy the dancing as well as sweet friendships between the girls. I enjoy seeing historical context in a movie like boarding houses which don't allow men in to visit the residents. I enjoyed Ann-Margaret as well as Ginna Claire Mason and Derek Klena. I would love to see a Hallmark movie featuring Ginna Claire's singing talents. Sweet movie.
Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
LOVED IT!
I'm not sure why people who hate Hallmark feel the need to rip on Hallmark and give the movie a 1 star review. This is definitely a take-off on the 80's movie, but that is what makes it so funny. I love these three Hunks of Hallmark and I thought they were hysterical. Their dance just cracked me up. I love everything Paul Campbell and Kimberly Sustad write. Keep up the good work. The three sons all have issues, but manage to get along and pull it together by the end of the movie. The baby is adorable and I love that Margaret Colin is featured in this movie as well as the original one. My favorite Christmas movie this year.
Catering Christmas (2022)
A snooze in the middle
This movie started out looking pretty interesting, but it really slowed down in the middle and was mostly a snooze. I didn't feel any chemistry between these characters. I normally like both of them, but they were just OK together. I think Daniel Lissing is funny in other movies like December bride, but they don't give him any humor in this movie. The constant field trips they go on to spend time together distract from the flow of the movie. I think a new business owner working to get her catering company up and running would be working in the storefront more often. The conversations seem rushed and I got tired of them going for more food and drinks while they discussed their families and lives. I like some fun Christmas activities or interesting secondary characters to perk up a movie and they are both missing here. Just OK.
Wedding of a Lifetime (2022)
LOVED IT!
Jonathan Bennett and Brooke D'Orsay are among the best actors on Hallmark and I loved this story. Both of these 2 actors are great at comedy and either one could have carried this movie. Together they are a treat in the story of a couple who gets carried away on a reality show where the winners get the dream wedding. I loved the fact that they had to be true to themselves in the end and get the wedding they really want. All the supporting cast is great as well. I especially love the grandma, Paula Shaw who is not mentioned on this IMBD. She was on the. Wonderful Mrs. Miracle Christmas last year.
A Season for Miracles (1999)
not your typical Hallmark Christmas movie
This is my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie. It was a Hallmark Hall of Fame show and doesn't have a typical sweet innocent love story. The characters have real issues to overcome and it is very uplifting. Patty Duke is wonderful as the angel. Carla Gugino is terrific in her role as the aunt trying to save her sister's children from the foster care system she and her sister endured. The whole cast is terrific from a young Mae Whitman to the older ladies who live across the street. This is a warm story that I have to watch every year.
Joy for Christmas (2021)
CAST TOO GOOD FOR THIS STORY
The cast is good and this story was lousy. If this is the quality from GAC, Hallmark has nothing to worry about. The characters had no chemistry, the story was disjointed and strange. Hard to care anything about these 2 people or the story.
The Christmas House (2020)
Funny and delightful!
Can't believe the haters about the gay story line. This is a wonderful movie and I have enjoyed watching it more than once. I am watching the second one right now and it is also funny and entertaining. The actors are terrific in here and you can tell they all enjoyed making their movies together. Really great!
Crashing Through the Snow (2021)
Cute and engaging!
I thought main characters were all terrific, but just wasn't sold on the ex-husband. I loved the fact that these characters were more adult and interesting. Amy and Warren were terrific and had a lot of chemistry in the movie. As a divorced mother, I could relate to the issues here especially when it came to the ear piercing. Loved it when the Mother said there were certain rites of passage including watching Gilmore girls and that the dad and stepmom shouldn't take those away from her. Had some great funny lines.
A Mrs. Miracle Christmas (2021)
Lovely and heartwarming
I loved Doris Roberts as Mrs. Miracle and wasn't sure about Caroline, but she did a great job. She is a different kind of Mrs. Miracle who is kind of sassy and fun. This movie was such a treat and I have watched it twice this year.
The Nine Kittens of Christmas (2021)
What a treat!
The second movie with this great cast is just as terrific as the first one. All Christmas movies should have 9 cute kittens. Marilee got in a jab at the Christmas tree lot that made me laugh. I was delighted that they got this cast back together to continue this fun movie.
