Jacob's Ladder (2019)
Totally unnecessary "remake"
When I heard they were remaking the classic 1990 Jacob's Ladder I rolled my eyes knowing it was going to be terrible. When it's trailer was finally released I watched it and groaned with disdain at how horrible and not in a good way it looked. Finally when it came out I watched this so called movie and had my head in one hand for most of the movie shaking my head thinking "why was this even made its just terrible". For the most part there is no real story not even one that closely resembles the original. The only thing they kept from the original was the movie's title and the lead characters name everything else is a flaming train wreck of immense proportions. There was little to no visual or slight gore horror not to mention when there were horror elements they weak and all CGI, as apposed to the original which was all practical effects. Sure they took some scenes and dialogue from the original and slopped them onto film but still this doesn't make a decent remake. This movie is a decent representation of remaking a movie that was amazing to begin with and just holding its head under the water until the little bubbles stop. Avoid this movie at all costs and just watch the 1990 original as it was a massive inspiration for the first 4 Silent Hill games.
Captain Marvel (2019)
What happens when a character is shoehorned in
This movie is the perfect example of poor writing, poor actor choice and even worse acting. Putting aside Brie Larson toxic public opinions this movie was entirely rushed and cobbled together to be released before End Game, so she could be shoehorned in for the conclusion to Infinity War and save us all in End Game. You can entirely miss this movie and quite happily watch End Game and not need to know anything about her character as she has no character or facial expressions or emotions. Utterly unlikeable movie which contributes nothing to the MCU.
Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection (2012)
Really? Possible spoiler ahead?
When I first heard there was to be a British remake of NoTLD I thought "yay" and "maybe not a good idea". After sitting and watching this "movie" I thought I'd been turned into a zombie because it drained the life out of me and all of my intelligence. The main characters from the original and the 1990 remake make a whopping what 10 min appearance at the start. Something happens and they are gone and another "storyline" unfolds with a different character set which made it worse and spiraled down the drain from there. This one should be avoided at all costs the acting was sub par and the story line was weak and character development was little to none. Nuff' said.
The Happening (2008)
Must be his best.
I read a persons review of this movie on this site and felt hurt after have seen the movie by the things he said. M. Night's work seems to be getting better and better. I can almost compare this move with some good Asian horror/thrillers i.e. The Eye and A Tale of Two Sisters. There are plot twists in the movie but they were very subtle and you don't think of them until the credits roll. Though the argument between the two leads seems petty it seems to mean the world to them. As for the whole idea of the back story it seems very plausible of a situation to happen as this world seems to be going to hell. I think it might be close to a Zombie movie except for no flesh eating just people offing themselves. All in all a very top movie and think all should go and see it and make their own judgements. Enjoy people.
