Nope (2022)
I quite enjoyed this..
This started off as what seemed to be another UFO related film and indeed it was to a certain extent but then the UFO turns out to be crypted which attacks you for the oddest of reasons - now that was an interesting twist. This movie was a little slow and difficult to get into and leaves some questions unanswered such as What is it, Where did it come from and Why is it here?
The one question that wasn't left answered and was indeed answered with a lot of satisfaction and gusto was the movies name to whit both of us watching went "that's where the got the name from" as up until that time it seemed to be a bit of a mystery.
Worth a watch.
Kill Mode (2020)
Could have been
This could have been a reasonable story if it were not for the camera work, it contained some reasonable special effects but the jumping around of the camera was just way to much to make it watchable and thus you could not get into the story ( what there was of it )
Use gimbals and a camera dolly for better results.
Wir sind die Welle (2019)
Slow boring teen drama.
Netflix seems to be going from bad to worse with this "drama" that tries to poke holes in capitalism while a group of young people cause choas. It may sound like a generalization but it sounds like a bunch of complaining millennials saying that everything is their parents fault.
The Prototype (2022)
Good Story needed a decent budget to get there
This had a good story but insufficient budget to make it not look like a bad B grade movie, some one should have backed the guy and it would have been a half way decent movie, you will note a lot of the special effects seem to be recycled from one scene to the next.
Better Call Saul (2015)
The prequel to Breaking Bad
This adds definition and explanation to Breaking Bad showing you how Saul Goodman - "it's all good man" came to be the way he is, a definite must watch.
Black Mirror (2011)
An excellent collection of stories
An excellent collection of stories that sometimes seemed to be interconnected even though they were not necessarily so. The only problem I had with them was there is not more.
The Dresden Files (2007)
This should never have been cancelled
I saw this for the first time on Amazon Prime and thouroughly enjoyed it, the idea is great, the acting was real and not at all wooden like some shows. They could have had a huge runaway hit on their hands if they had just stuck with it.
Enterprise (2001)
I can not believe..
I can not believe that they chose to end this series, the actors were phenominal, the premises excellent and the story lines fantastic, it will be sorely missed.
RuPaul's Drag Race (2009)
Not reality TV
But pure unadulterated brain rot just like the rest of of "reality TV". They need to stop producing TV shows for people with single digit IQs and that literally debase the value of the LGBTQ community treating them like a joke.
The Expanse (2015)
One of the best Sci fis I have seen in years
One of the best Sci Fis ive seen in a long time, excellent premise, well executed and thought out. Fantastically acted. I hope it keeps going for many more seasons but can see them being painted into a corner once the proto molicule is gone.
Lost in Space (2018)
Could have been so much more
Seasons 1 and 2 were fantastic, season 3 fealt like a confused and very messy attempt to finish the series as quickly as possible. This was an oppertunity lost for what could have been a long running and popular series.
Voyagers (2021)
A bad redo of Lord of the Flies in space.
This film was a Trainwreck, the premise was good but to believe the alien storyline was laughable and it just went from bad to worse.
There seemed to be no logic involved and the characters were very cardboard cutout, in fact cardboard cut outs probably would have made it better.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003)
When the series first started it was a 10
When the series first started it was a 10/10, the departure of Pauley Perrette who played the part of Abby Sciuto and Michael Weatherly and playing the part of Anthony DiNozzo were the start of the shows downward slide. The new Abby, Kasie hinds seems to be a glorified computer operator with very little in the way of forensics actually being mentioned.
Parker is not Gibbs and never will be gibbs and is a lacklustre character he would have been better off replaced by McGee using Gibbs rules and hiring in a new probie.
Torres - I can't understand why they tried to shoe horn him in, he definately does not fit the vibe and breaks things even further.
It feels like Jessica Knight has been brought in purely for "female empowerment" and as a possible love interest for Torres.
This show started off fantasic but after 19.5 seasons I think it's on it's last legs, It used to be "CSI : Naval edition" now it's more like "days of our lives navel edition".
I used to enjoy watching every new episode now I am thinking what tired old trope are they going to roll out next.
CSI... Done...next.
