Intense 90s Gangster thriller.
30 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I got recommended this movie quite a lot, so I decided to give this movie a watch and it was ok. It didn't blow me away however it was intense and did have a lot of influence I could tell how inspirational this movie was in a few scenes. I did think Christopher Walken portrayed the gangster king pin Frank White perfectly had that intense and charismatic vibe to him. They was plenty of action and did have me intrigued to see what would happen to Frank and to see how he would get out of avoiding the police. I think the movies ending was perfect and to see Frank suffering in the end of his crime wave was the fitting ending.

A background movie.
30 April 2023
I think this movie is a background movie I think it's a movie you put on when there is nothing else or while you're doing something to catch the odd scenes that where enjoyable and fun. I think for the most it was quite boring but I did like the premise, I do think that the third act was quite enjoyable when Megan decided to not be nice anymore. I did expect a lot more action in this movie and I was disappointed on that part and on the scenes that they was it was a little tame. I think I was expecting too much to be like Chucky and it's good in a way it has its own originality to it. It did look like they maybe a sequel at the end so that was intriguing.

Such an enjoyment of a movie.
30 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Following Far From Home the ending from Quentin Beck revealed who Spider-Man was and this movie shows Peter trying to find a way out from this predicament. Peter has to go to Steven Strange to try find a way to make Spider-Man a secret again, and in doing this creates a whole mess. This mess includes some old villains coming back and creating havoc on the MCU timeline, it also brings back some alternate versions of Peter in an incredible movie and possibly one of my favourite in the whole franchise. This movie has a lot of heartbreaking moments, but also has a lot of fan service for those of us who grew up on Spider-Man in a possible conclusion to Tom Holland as Peter Parker.

Enjoyable, colourful and entertaining.
19 April 2023
I enjoyed myself with this movie I feel like Will Smith and Tom Holland connected with their voices in this one and made the characters more likeable then maybe they should've. This movie was the last movie made by the then FOX owned Blue Sky Studios in which unfortunately was their last movie they made. With the story it was pretty basic and predictable but this is a movie directed to children after all, but as an adult I did find myself chuckling the odd time with the humour and chemistry between the two main characters and others. I would recommend if you have kids to watch it with if not it's definitely not worth the time.

Intense cop action.
19 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This cop drama follows to South Central Police officers on their patrols and in this intense action drama it just gets progressively worse for them which includes saving children to messing with the wrong people. I really liked the chemistry between the two main actors (Gyllenhaal) and (Peña) I think the both really worked well together and made the movie that more interesting between the two they are more brothers than friends and would die for each other which literally does happen when office Zavala (Peña) dies putting his body on the line for his partner Brian Taylor (Gyllenhaal). I would definitely recommend there is a load of action but the two main make this a lot more interesting.

Romanticised war movie.
18 April 2023
Having watched this movie I thought that it was ok, it wasn't amazing but it did have a lot of action which made the cringy romanticised war movie that little bit more watchable. I think that the love triangle between the 3 main cast did make this movie that little less epic just because I think the action scenes are great which is a speciality of Michael Bay. I do think that this movie didn't need to be 3 hours long, I think this movie did focus on the love triangle a bit too long. I would recommend if you have enough time to watch however I don't think this movie is a need to watch unless you like dramatic romance.

Enjoyable DC fun.
16 April 2023
Been a big fan of Superman and the Justice League this movie was a great watch and was a lot of fun in this animated turn on Superman's pet Krypto and his friends. I found myself smiling a lot in this movie and did enjoy the voice acting and the humour in this DC flick. Instead of Superman it was Krypto who was the main character and it was fun seeing how it dealt with been a regular dog after having ingested Kryptonite which stopped his powers. I think Dwayne Johnson did great in voicing Krypto and made me smile, also having the likes of Kevin Hart and other voice the other pets was hilarious.

Very fun show.
16 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this MCU series the second one after Loki I have liked having not enjoyed the previous 2 before. I think this show was a lot of fun and had a lot of feel good factors into it especially introducing Kate Bishop and having the series at Christmas time. I did find the tracksuits and the main antagonist of the show to be very dull and not intimidating or memorable at all, I did however like the introduction of Kingpin into the MCU. I also found it interesting that Yelena, Natasha's sister came into the fold towards the end and her encounter with Clint was a great way to end the series.

Black Adam (2022)

Quite enjoyable.
8 April 2023
I quite enjoyed this movie, I've seen this movie get a lot of hate and as a fan of the superhero genre as well as Dwayne Johnson I had to give this a watch. I see people are hating on it for been boring and dry whereas I actually quite liked it, it was action packed and full of destruction what a superhero movie should be. I did understand the criticism of Dwayne Johnson having no personality, and if you have had read the comic books about Black Adam he had actually portrayed him very well, yes he didn't have an accent and pointy ears but it wasn't that bad. I liked the other heroes although side characters and ending villain were forgettable it was an ok watch.

Just boring.
7 April 2023
I gave this movie a shot despite hearing bad things about it and it was the let down I heard about. I think the main criticism I can give this movie is that it's just boring, the movie isn't long but it just seems to drag, the action is there but it's not great and the story just seems to drag and is a utter mess. Even with Matt Smith someone who I like even he couldn't shine in this movie. Unfortunately it's not a great movie and it's disappointing what sony is doing with the Spider-Man universe, although I liked the Venom movies this just isn't good. I was intrigued that they brought Adrian Toomes in the credit scene we'll see what that brings.

Not great, but not bad.
5 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I had a lot of fun watching this movie, I think this movie had some of the best CGI and visuals in any MCU movie. I think this movie also gets a lot of hate, some been of the controversy in the movie and some with the story itself. I actually liked most of this movie, yes it did tend to drag towards the end, but this hate gets way too much for what it is. I think the actors portrayed the roles well especially Gemma Chan. I think some of visuals where amazing and was full of colour. The movie had 2 credit scenes and they where intriguing ones, one involving Harry Styles and the other with Kit Harringtons character.

An interesting take on the Marvel multiverse.
5 April 2023
This series was a very interesting one in the way that Marvel made stories out of the Marvel multiverse. I found all stories to be great and some are retellings of the same stories we know but with different scenarios. It was great to see some of the main actors come back to voice over their characters, and it was great seeing what happens in different multiverse, with some fan theories in these What If's. I do think the zombie one was the most intriguing as that is the most well know what if story in marvel, so it was cool seeing that brought into animation, speaking of animation I really liked it and it was a cool style.

Expected more.
3 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I expected more out of this movie I think it could've been much more scarier for a horror, I think that without the profanity and the one death it seemed like a kids spooky movie. I do think that the scares could've been more impactful and yes this movie didn't focus on jump-scares much rather the creepy side of the "Grabber". I do think Ethan Hawke could've been more sinister than creepy it did feel like he wasn't try that hard and felt lacklustre at times. I did however like the idea of contacting the past children who had been killed to help him get out, also I found the death of the "Grabber" satisfying.

Black Widow (2021)

More hated than necessary.
3 April 2023
I really enjoyed the first hour of this movie, it was full of action and I like almost anything Scarlett Johansson is in, she always portrays the Black Widow brilliantly and that was what it was like the first hour. Unfortunately the second half of the movie it did start to drag and did become boring at times until the ending. I did think the antagonists of the movie were forgettable and that Taskmaster was portrayed poorly and I do think they wasted such an interesting character on a mute. I do however think this movie gets more hate than it needs and it is quite enjoyable for certain parts of the movie.

Decent origin movie.
3 April 2023
Continuing the MCU timeline we come into this movie not really knowing the character Shang Chi, and with this been his first introduction it wasn't that bad. I think for one this movie has some of the best hand to hand fighting scenes in any MCU movie, and it is action packed throughout which is enjoyable in my opinion. I think the story was fine and the antagonist leading towards the big bad at the end was ok, however I think the fighting scenes make this movie more enjoyable than it was, maybe if it wasn't as action packed it wouldn't have been that fun. The credit scenes are intriguing and I'll look forward to the sequel.

Loki (2021–2023)

Best one yet.
29 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I think this is the best MCU tv show yet, I think Tom Hiddleston like always plays a great role in Loki, and leads this show very well. Following the 2 other MCU tv shows I think this one is the best one yet and I really enjoyed this one. I really liked the introductions of Mobius and Sylvie and it was good to see Loki having friendships and maybe more in Sylvie. I do think this series is building into the next big bad for the MCU especially meeting a variant of him at the end. It was a tragic ending though for Loki as he is deceived in the end and things looked even worst when it looked like Kang got what he wanted in the end. Enjoyed this and look forward to season 2.

Interesting origin story.
25 March 2023
When I first saw this advertised on tv it got me intrigued however I left it nearly 10 years to watch unfortunately I lost out on the hype of this movie. I really enjoyed this movie, it had a lot of action and some decent battle scenes. I do think Luke Evans played a great lead role and really made himself powerful in the role, however I do think a lot of the side character's were pretty bland, and useless although I understand why they had to be there. I did like Charles Dance as the main vampire who gives Dracula his powers I thought he played the role Great like all of his roles. I would recommend as a stand alone movie but could've been set up to a sequel.

Just as good as the Prequel.
17 March 2023
Following the events of the prequel this movie follows Maverick on his journeys and to lead a group of youngsters into a deadly mission, and I fully enjoyed this one. I really liked the prequel movie and the sequel is just as good, the young actors really held their own against Tom Cruise especially Miles Teller. I really think he portrayed the son of Goose really well and his relationship with Maverick is broken, we do get to see their relationship strengthen over the length of the movie, with a great climatic end. I liked the introduction of Jennifer Connelly's character, and really liked the relationship between her and Maverick. I would definitely recommend if you watched the first one, both are great.

Disappointment.
15 March 2023
I came into this movie knowing it was a war movie and that Henry Cavill was in it. With that I was disappointed in how little Henry Cavill was in this with very few scenes, however the movie itself wasn't that bad they where some powerful scenes in this, and that the lead was decent, Hoult wasn't at his best in this movie and maybe was a little strong for him. Coming back to Cavill he played a great role in this with little scenes he had and was a strong co actor. This movie will only be watched once by myself, I don't know if I would recommend it, but if like me and a fan of Cavill it's worth a watch.

Heartwarming load of fun.
15 March 2023
I came into this movie not really knowing what to expect, except a colourful and wild trailer showed us that this movie was going to be chaotic and beautifully animated I was not let down. I do think this movie was way more than that, I found this movie so heartwarming between the relationship of this family especially the father and daughter, even brining tears out of me at times. This movie surprised me in a good way and even had quite a fair bit of action in it, which I was expecting but the way it was animated was amazing. I feel that this movie had a great script and was animated perfectly, I would definitely recommend.

Not great but the finale made it.
14 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Following Wandavision I continued the MCU timeline and the MCU series'. I came into this expecting what did happen and it is a series of Sam Wilson's turn from Falcon to Captain America, and that did happen making this show pretty predictable. I did like the introduction of John Walker (US Agent) I found him likeable and a great rival for both Bucky and Sam. I did find the antagonists for the series to be mediocre and boring. What I did like about this show is although it was predictable and very boring at times it did make up for it with its series finale, and that was the most enjoyable episode in this series. I do look forward to what the MCU do for the US Agent and where he comes in the future.

Ted Lasso (2020– )

Extremely enjoyable series.
12 February 2023
I heard about this show from watching a football match, and I thought I'd check it out, how I was surprised how good it was. I really like Ted's character and who he is despite been jolly and happy most of the time there is more going on underneath. I think the whole cast is brilliant, and I think that they have a great chemistry together, and despite it been a comedy there is some dark events in the series, that delve deep into the characters past especially Ted. With 2 seasons gone we will watch the third and last season this year and I will be extremely curious how the conclusion of this show turns out.

Welcome to Wrexham (2022– )

A lot enjoyable than I would of thought.
10 January 2023
Been a big fan of football and Ryan Reynolds, I thought I'd give this series a watch and although I did think it was going to be Americanised, I was right in certain aspects. With the Americanisation of the series it did become cringeworthy at certain times as a European football fan. Although this did happen I did enjoy it more than I thought with the right sense of humour brought in by Ryan and Rob, it was good to watch the journey of a football club most people out of Britain probably never knew and although they didn't succeed in the accomplishments they wanted it was a good watch and I hope they bring out a second season.

The Batman (2022)
8/10
A good movie but not great.
4 January 2023
After watching The Batman I realised that their is two sides to the Batman, one is that he is a damaged soul and is screaming for help, and two is that he is a ruthless vigilante who won't stop until he catches his prey. I think that this movie showed both in great context however I found that this movie did also drag it out in unnecessary detail which could've been avoided. I found that this movie at times had so much going on it became more than one story, and I think that this could put off many people even myself at times where it just became slow and boring. I did like the introduction of many characters but that played into the downfall of too much going on. I did like this movie but I don't think I could watch it again, and I think that's what makes it a great one time watch. I would recommend this but don't expect it to be a superhero movie, it feels more like a gritty thriller.

Fun and Enjoyable sequel.
26 October 2022
I came into this movie having really enjoyed the previous one, and had high hopes of this movie been just as enjoyable and I was correct. I really enjoyed this movie it was fun, had great humour and didn't feel dry and childish like other kids movies. Although I really liked the humour of this one, I do think that the previous one was better with the humour as this one felt forced at times especially with Jim Carrey. I do think Jim was great as usual and was great as Robotnik as the previous one, I also liked the introduction of Knuckles and Tailes, I think they played a great part in the movie and loved the bond between them and Sonic. I would definitely recommend as both films and enjoyable.
