Girl Finds Out She's Adopted (2021)
Good
Pretty good, but does the title of the film really have to practically spoil the plot of the movie? "Girl finds out she's adopted"?
Overall, I like the dark undertone this film presents. I have been waiting for it for so long! I would like to see a sequel!
Also, the acting is really good.
As the title suggests, a girl finds out she's adopted on her birthday, which coincidentally, is around Thanksgiving. She spends the rest of it trying to come into contact with her biological family. Her birth parents are horrible people, but her biological sister is pretty nice. She, too, has been adopted but by another family.
Overall, the film is brilliant, but they could have picked a better title like "Amelia" because that's the girl's name. It also has a good moral: Family doesn't require blood. It's who you love and who loves you. No truer words have ever been said.
Lilac Gulch (2022)
Interesting
I liked this movie. I really did.
Basically, it's about a kid who tries to get over grief in a very beautiful way. He has this imaginary friend who tries to help him out of it. In the end, he ends up coping with his loss and reuniting with his dad.
I LOVED the acting!!! Everyone, including the actor who portrayed the boy, was very good at their job! I even loved the little comedic moments!!! At the end, the director went around with a mic and people in the audience were allowed to ask the crew questions. I loved it!!!
All in all, "Lilac Gulch" is a VERY good short film!
Save Ralph (2021)
Heart wrenching story
I love animals, and I hate that this is happening to them! I first heard about this short film on YouTube and decided to watch it. It truly was heartbreaking and has a very powerful message. I remember being depressed all day long. After watching it, I made a vow to not use cosmetics that were tested on animals. I remember crying at the part where Ralph says, "My daddy was a tester. My mom, my brothers, my sisters, my kids, all testers. And they all died doing their job! Just like I will,"
Anyways, it was a really great short film with fantastic animation and voice acting. I really hope they'll do a sequel where Ralph and his fellow testers get saved. Thank you!
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
Love it, but.....
I saw the movie a couple of months ago and I just gotta say it's good. I LOVE the comedy and action!! Just this one thing:
There is a part in the movie where Sweet Pete (aka Peter Pan) tells Chip and Dale how Disney fired him after he got too old. His story parallels that of Bobby Driscoll, Peter Pan's original voice actor who went through the same thing. He got involved in alcohol, drugs, and crime and later died in an abandoned tenement at the age of 31. He was buried in Potter's Field because no one could identify his body and his body is STILL THERE. It wasn't until over a year later when his mother went looking for him that the family learned he had died, and I read somewhere that they tried to bring it back but New York officials wouldn't let them bring him back to California. I'm saying this as a Bobby Driscoll fan!! Pete's backstory is super distasteful in this sense.
Other than that, I love this movie! The acting and writing is great. They just could have honestly written Peter Pan's backstory with ORIGINALITY.
Anyways, the movie parodies some famous children's characters such as Bjornson being a parody of the Swiss Chef from The Muppet Show. I particularly thought that Seth Rogen did a good job on Bob, who is a parody of early 2000's CGI. The CGI in this movie was GREAT, too! Andy Samburg is also a funny guy!
There is a lot about the movie that I liked, but I won't get into any more spoilers.
Dhar Mann (2018)
Brilliant!
Ok, so I started watching Dhar Mann a few years ago. The first video I watched was about a girl who never spent time with her mom until the mom's final days. The message was that time is short. All of his vids contain a powerful message. For example, never judge someone until you get to know them, or stand up for what you believe in. My favorite one was about a wife who realizes that God answered her prayers.
I love ALL of Dhar's videos!!!! The one star reviews are just his haters.
His videos want to make you laugh, cry, or both. It does contain some clichés but overall it's good. The actors are brilliant at what they do, and the scripts are just flat out amazing! (Heck, even I want to be in a video.)
All in all, Dhar Mann is one of the best YouTubers/filmmakers out there. His stories are captivating and I highly recommend for you to at least try them. You really could learn something from him.
Forensic Files (1996)
Enough to scare the crap out of you
I love this show!!!!!! As a crime show fanatic, I give this series a 10/10. I think forensic science is awesome, and it deserves all the credit, which is given to it at the end of every episode. I can't think of really anything else to say. This is a show that will make you wary of your neighbors, spouse, and friends! Enough to make you sleep with one eye open!
Cats (2019)
terrible CGI
The only thing I like about this movie is the singing, especially Jennifer Hudson's, Francesca Hayward's, and the guy who played Munkustrap (I'm sorry, I don't know his name). The CGI was terrible!!!!! That the acting was moderate. Also, if you look closer, you can clearly see the cats have NO PAWS!!!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw it!!!
The Silent Child (2017)
a very depressing and infuriating movie
I love this movie!!! The parents made me so mad, because they don't know sign language, and refuse to learn it, although their daughter is deaf. I nearly cried at the ending when the girl and the social worker who works with her signed "I love you". I remember thinking, "What?! That's it?!" This is one of those movies where you want a happy ending.
