Benjamin Franklin (2022)
Definitely new history
I agree completely with other reviews that this film seems to want to take Ben Franklin down as much as build him up. Completely unneccesary and not like the typical Ken Burns film prior to the new agenda. Most of the personal attacks come from Erica Dunbar making outragious claims woman and people of color could have done what he did if given the chance? The entire movie is about one man in the entire world who did more incredible things than anyone in many facets. Not to mention what makes her think they would want to do or commit themselves to all the things he spent time doing. Its like saying woman would make the best car mechanics if given the chance? Look around, mot many are interested in that career. Ken needs to go back to the facts providing history to America for generations and not opinions or recent trends of tearing down everyone. It won't age well like the older stuff before his work was influenced. No one was perfect. Not even this biography.
Halloween Kills (2021)
The worst movie in the franchise
Yes,Halloween Resurrection with busta rhymes is more enjoyable to watch.
This has so many confusing flashbacks and a plotless story line it is unwatchable. Lori injures her back or something in the hospital after all she has been through. The mood lighting was over the top, a dark fantasy of what hospitals look like. What was the point of the Sherrif, he looked like he was from another movie and got lost on the wrong set? The last Halloween was great and if you watch it and then this, it went from a small town in the suburbs to a ghetto. This movie was so bad, even if you are warned and go in optomistic it still "kills"you to watch it. Heavy on cast selection with no story. For those of you who say horror movies just needs to be a guy slashing a knife at stupid people, that is sad, anyone can make that movie, let me take a stab at it, I could do better than this.
Fresh Meat: Jeffrey Dahmer (2021)
Interesting until it got to the psychotherapist
You can tell what year a documentery was made when they pull the race card. After 2020. This was interesting to watch unyil they had Jasmine Johnson the black supremist provide narrative. As with everything she believes the police didnt follow up on things because of the color of their skin. With nothing to back it up because they were white they just had to be bias toward investigating the victims. She only takes african american clients for counseling of course. How do people get away this?
The stories from the people who were around when the murders took place was the best part. I also like how they incorporated the old footage.
