The House on Sorority Row (1982)
Classic slasher
I had never seen House on Sorority Row, and yes i am ashamed, because growing up in NYC, as a teen, I thought i had seen every horror flick made in the 1980's by way of 42nd street double features, and late night cable TV. I don't know if it had a long run in the theaters, but i did miss this gem. Yes, a "gem". You see, many horror flicks like this one from 30 years ago were of course made to make money for producers during this genre craze, BUT, most writers and directors made them for the viewer as well, they wanted to give their audience their money's worth. Low budget flicks like "Evil Dead", to higher budget ones like the "The Burning" were made with effort, class and creativity, and i think the majority of the film makers who made them, had a sincere love for their craft.
