Stranger Things (2016)
Full series review
Season 1=8.9/10
The first season was groundbreaking. Well besides people saying that Winona Ryder was the best mother in the series because we all know that love for one child can't compete with Harrington being a single mum of seven. The demigorgan was genuinely scary. The main cast did a very good job acting this season (I can't remember all the tiny details lol because the last time I watched it was in 2020). In some places the show went completely quiet which was absolutely amazing because it gave the season that horror and suspense vibes.
Season 2=8.7/10
This season was great with the introduction of fan favourites like Max Mayfield and Bob Newby. The Mind Flayer felt like a good main villain and hive mind and the demodogs which I call flower puppy's because of the way the mouth opens in a flower shape and how considerably less scary they are compared to Demigorgans. The ending was great and Steve Harrington had the best character arc I had seen in a tv show other than Ashoka Tano (from the clone wars) but the real reason this season is lower than season 1 is because of the very mediocre lost sister episode. It didn't need to exist and if it didn't exist this season would be on par or maybe even higher than season 1.
Season 3=8.3/10
While this season is still very good I personally think it dropped the ball a little. Yes Steve Harrington's crazy good character arc continued, Robin was introduced (the first gay character of the show), Alexei was introduced as well and Billy Hargrove got a very good death concluding a very good character arc yet it feels way less horror filled and more goofy. The whole Russian subplot was being carried by Joyce, Hopper, Murray, Alexei, Steve, Robin, Dustin and Erica. If they weren't there I would've been bored to death. One of the things I really don't like was Grigori. A Russian rip off terminator chasing down Alexei so he could kill him.
Season 4=8.2/10
At the end of Volume 1 I thought that this was way better than season 3 but the finale really threw me off a little. New main characters were Eddie Munson (one of my all time favourites), Argylle (comic relief guy), Enzo (cool Russian fella) and Jason a special kind of character that I absolutely hate. The only thing that would make me hate him less was if he put on the Friday the Thirteenth mask. The Russian subplot was excellently woven into the story in Hawkins and the story in California. Episode 8 for the most part was good and Dr Brenner had a good death but the finale left a little to be desired. I wish they had killed off Max because the series was building up to it but obviously would've cried a lot if they did. I understand why they didn't thought because than all those demodogs, demigorgans and the mind flayer would come into Hawkins and it would be all over. There were some pacing issues with the finale especially towards the end. The sounds and music was great this season with Running up that hill being the best song possible for Max. So overall this season is the worst but still a solid season.
As a show stranger things is amazing and I really can't wait for Season 5 because it is the final season and they have the potential to kill off so many characters.
Star Wars: Squadrons (2020)
Brings back memories (Spoiler Alert)
First off the graphics are amazing. All the maps each have a different stunning beauty and colour and this game is amazing in VR. Especially the final mission. This gives a massive X-Wing and Tie Fighter game mashup vibe only newer. Now the story is mainly decent. I found 2 plot holes though. Lindon Javes crashes into the Star hawk but does not die. He should've stayed dead. Then in another mission you are getting pushed by the Starhawk's gravity core to escape the interior of the Starhawk. In the Star Wars universe that should've pulverised a measly tie fighter.
The multiplayer is fun but could be improved. You only really enjoy this section of the game once you master each ship. There could be more ships and stuff but the update should take care of this.
Overall a solid game that brings nostalgia into the hearts of 90s Star Wars fans. Would recommend for VR.
