The Flash: A New World, Part 4: Finale (2023)
Disappointing, but we all knew that.
Look, I loved this show, but it's become so alienated from its first few seasons that it's unrecognizable. The past 4 seasons have been intolerable, so what would make this season any different. Nothing. This season is the worst yet, and this finale does nothing to make it better. They bring back all the old villains, who somehow have completely different personalities now. The acting from each of them is bottom notch (including zoom). There is no effort put into making the dialogue compelling or engaging. They brought back the goddam lightsabers and it's as goofy as ever. Man, what happened to this show?
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: A Normal Amount of Rage (2022)
It's good, but not GOOD
She Hulk: Attorney at Law is the newest MCU D+ show. This first episode has been review bombed and is rated way to low, however I don't believe that's it's GREAT either. I appreciate the fourth wall breaking which is new for the MCU. I also liked the interactions between Bruce and Jennifer. Although there's some witty humor and silly moments, it is nothing groundbreaking. The final scene feels like the beginning to the second episode rather then the ending. I do believe that if they start to build upon the lore while also keeping the humor, this show could become great. I also hope to see more lawyer scenes of her defending citizens and villains.
Lightyear (2022)
It's not that bad...
All the reviews are saying this movie is garbage, it's not. People just have there expectations very high(as do I) because it's Pixar. It's surely disappointing in terms of Pixar standards and the legacy behind it. Although, Sox. Sox is one of the funniest Pixar characters of all time. I would honestly just watch it for Sox. I liked Hawthorne a lot and the scene of her getting older as buzz moved through time was very emotional. I thought Chris Evans as buzz was great and he did capture Tim Allen's voice very well. I did not enjoy Hawthorne's granddaughter and Mo though. I won't get into to much as of story but I will give this a 7/10.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Wow... x5
What an outstanding film. Not just as a sequel to "Top Gun" but as a stand-alone masterclass of filmmaking. Every scene was so well thought out and had strong emotions. Every performance was so... real. Speaking of real, those plain scenes have set an example of practical effects work. You could feel the power and speed of the planes and the effects it had on the pilots. I was on the edge of my seat watching the dogfights and wondering "will he/she die?" Tommy Cruise shows his dedication to his craft and his commitment to realism. The conflicts between characters has SO MUCH depth and intrigue. These gut wrenching conflicts deserve heartwarming pay offs right. Well then go experience "Maverick" to see for your self.
