The 1619 Project (2023)
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!
This is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! I have told so many people to check it out and watch for themselves. There are actual real clips from back in the day (during the Civil Rights Movement) that are used. There are actual real interviews with people who personally endured what the topics in the film are about. The music. The history. Just an ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT series!!! So much TRUTH here!!! The TRUTH hurts, but it can set you free, if you stop being a coward and FACE IT!!!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! I have watched it twice already!!!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. (2022)
Don't Listen to The "Church Folks" Bashing This Film
Great acting. Good story. Sterling K. Brown and Regina Hall are really, really good in this. If you have ever watched TV shows such as THE OFFICE or ABBOTT ELEMENTARY or MODERN FAMILY, the film uses that style of story-telling; it's a MOCKUMENTARY. Puts the HYPOCRISY of these FAKE megachurches and the opportunists who run them on blast. FULL STOP!!!!!! The film pushes buttons. There are so many layers to it. And some of these reviews here about the film? Puh-leeze! I have to wonder about the folks trashing this movie. Maybe they saw some s*** that reminded them of THEIR church or THEIR Pastor or First Lady? Hmmm...Don't believe some of these "church folks" bashing this. They are all up in their feelings, and need to chill out. It is a satire film. It is NOT poking fun of the church. It IS poking fun at some of the FAKE megachurch Pastors and First Ladies who are running the churches.
Johnson (2021)
Really good show
Really good show. Came across it accidentally, and binge-watched the first season. Not sure what the negative reviews are or what that is about; not sure what show they were watching; I found this to be really good and it's nice to see Black men in roles beyond stereotypical thugs, drug dealers, pimps, or treating women like dirt/disrespecting them. Bring on season 2.
